Suite description was misleading, it was the size of normal rooms at other hotels. Pull out was small even for kids and was extremely uncomfortable and noisy. Wall were thin and could hear the people next door.

Don't Accept a Room Near The Back

Pros: Cleanliness, Front Desk Staff
Cons: soundproofing and cleanliness.
Location: There are plenty of food choices, and the desk has a nice list and map of nearby conveniences.
We were looking for a reasonable room in a convenient location and the Holiday Inn met both of those requirements. The young woman at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, and the facilities looked clean and inviting. The room was adequate and clean, until I opened the curtains. The window was dirty with bugs, some alive - some not, between the glass and screen. After unpacking and getting ready for dinner I noticed that there seemed to be a whistle coming from the window. After returning from dinner and getting into bed I noticed that the whistle had become annoying. No problem, I'll just crack the window enough o stop the whistle. I don't know what is behind this hotel, but they run some kind of turbine or other heavy machinery that cycles off and on all night, totally destroying any hope for a full night of uninterrupted rest. So, if you decide to stay at this new hotel, insist on a room away from the lower room numbers and toward the front.

Excellent place to stay in Ames

Pros: In one word - comfortable
Cons: If I had to pick, new windows because I think they allowed a little cold and noise inside. The blackout drapes solved it and I was still comfortable.
Location: It's right off the interstate and a major road to enter Ames. Ames is small so everything in Ames is nearby.
This was my second time staying here. It was recently remodeled so everything was new and nice. It has a modern style that I like. The bed was very comfortable - comparable to a Marriott but it's been awhile since I stayed at a Marriott. I like the Bath & Body Works products. (Sometimes it's the little things for me.) The breakfast was very good and a good selection. I didn't try the other amenities such as the pool and fitness room. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service even at Christmastime.

Nice place

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
We stayed here for College Parent's weekend. The hotel was clean, nice, comfortable and the staff was very pleasant. The free breakfast in the mornings was above average and very tastey. I would definitely stay here again!
