This was the second time staying at this hotel. I do like the hotel, but when I got there this time I had to wait for the room to be ready. I got there one hour after my check in time and still had to wait for another half hour for my room to be ready. After a very long trip this was not fun at all. Each morning when I left my room I always turn on the light and put the sign on the door to make up my room. The first time I stayed there I did the same and it was hit or miss if it would be clean when I came back in several hours. This time on the second day when I came back to the room I got a call from house keeping. They were not very nice at all. They asked me if I wanted them to make my room up today. When I hesitated thinking about what to say, the man said sir that was a very easy question and would only need to be answered with a simple yes or no. My God before I let my room 6 hours earlier I put the please make up my room sign on the door and turned on the light to make up my room. This hotel is nice for what they have. And most of the people will go out of their way to make you happy. But house keeping is not very short from being quick to please. And with the fact that my room was not ready when I got there I was disappointed. I like the hotel but I don't know if I will stay there again.

Very nice and simple place to stay

Pros: The people at the hotel were very nice. Always said hello and did their best for you.
Cons: Hotel shuttle drivers
Location: So many little stores close by and little places to eat. I picked this hotel because it was cheap and very close to Riza park
I really like the hotel. The people were very nice and always tried to please you. They did keep the room very clean. Of course you could see things that needed work but that was OK. When leaving the hotel the driver tried to make a move on my wife and offered better prices for the rides. The hotel and the hotel workers were great. But I don't recommend the hotel shuttle service at all.

Strong wi-fi but horrendous internet.

Pros: Great staff, close to food, shopping and the US Embassy.
Cons: Would help if there were microwaves in the room, and if the elevator went to the top floor. And please fix internet access.
Location: 24-hour minimart across the street. Jollibees across the street. Pizza Hut almost next door. Shopping mall 5 minutes walk. US Embassy 5 minutes walk.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a Robinson's Mall, and Jollibee's and Pizza Hut (order sauce or you won't get any) is practically right outside the door. The US Embassy is about 3 blocks away. The hotel has a USD to PHP exchange, but I didn't use it. There are multiple money changers very close by, which I used. The hotel will offer a crib if you have a baby with you. The room is clean and has a safe, stocked mini-fridge and hot water pot, but no microwave. It advertises free wi-fi, and it has that. But there's a difference between having wi-fi and having internet capability. I could not load any internet pages during daylight, and had a very rough go of it at night. Forget about videos or even animated gifs. I couldn't see them, even at night. The staff is very friendly, as I have come to expect from all Philippines hotels. Hotel rooms are on floors 2 through 6, with the smoking rooms restricted to the 6th floor and the elevator stopping at the 5th floor. I'm a smoker. I need internet access. I also want a microwave. If you're a non-smoker who doesn't need a microwave or internet, this hotel can serve your needs. But mainly due to the lack of internet availability, I cannot recommend it.

My favorite hotel in Manila

Pros: Everything, but mostly how well the staff treat you
Location: Close to the US embassy, if you need to go there. I go to the dentist, just a half a block away. Plenty of bars and restaurants.
I always stay here when I am in Manila, and it is like coming home. The staff are the best. I have stayed at other hotels in the area, but none compare to La Corona for the value, but mostly for how you are treated there

My favorite hotel

Pros: Just a short stay, but they always treat me so well. No matter if I am there for a few weeks, or just a couple of nights, the staff treats me so well
Location: Great location in Ermita for me. My friends live close by, and I enjoy Cowboy Grill, and Hobbit house being so close

Awesome hotel and great location.

Pros: We liked everything about this hotel.
Cons: No improvement is needed.
Location: The location is great and there are many great restaurants and bars to go to.
We had a great and awesome time at this hotel. All employees were friendly and smiled all the time. All employees knew their jobs. We most definitely will stay at this hotel again when we go back to Manila in February 2017. We have stayed at more than ten (10) hotels in the same area and this is absolutely the best hotel that we stayed in that area.

Pros: The staff are the best.
Location: It's Manila, so the location is close to some things like the embassy, but far away from a lot of things. But it's a perfect location for me, and the
I have stayed at La Corona numerous times, and it is always like returning home. The staff are friendly and helpful. They always remember me, and take the best care of my needs.
