"the bed was amazing."
i slept so well in that bed. everything was beautiful and exactly what i needed. although i was only there for a short time, i would definitely come back. they had a long list of activities for those who had never been to the area. a concierge. complimentary wine tasting. the entire hotel was great.

"Best bang for your buck"
I'm a commuter who often misses the last train home. I've stayed in many of the "affordable" hotels in Manhattan, and this is by far the nicest I've seen. Great staff, clean room, quiet. Had a nice standard room on the 14th floor with a surprisingly good view. The bed was huge, slept like a rock.

"Amazing location!"
The hotel is small but very centrally located. Our room was on the 9th floor and I heard no noise from inside the hotel or outside the entire time we were there. The room was a good size for NYC with a queen size bed, 2 bedside tables, a dresser and a small, round table and parson's chairs. The bathroom was a nice size but the door didn't open the whole way. It met with an interior wall in the bathroom. A person of larger size may have difficulty. Also, the threshold at the bathroom door was quite high and caused a couple of stumbles both in and out of the door. The towels were large and fluffy and the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The entire room had been updated and was very clean and quite charming. Biggest drawback for me was not enough plugs for electronic devices! There was no fridge, microwave or coffeepot in the room but that was not an issue for us. The lobby was blah and the elevators were slow. I wasn't overwhelmed by the warm fuzzies (not!) coming from the staff but we weren't there to see them anyway! There is no designated drop off zone for the hotel. With no bellman, luggage is dragged up about 3 steps then through the pull/push doors. Not a huge problem, though. All in all, I would stay there again just for the location and the comfy bed!

"Perfect location"
Our only difficulty was our bathroom being very confined. Wall and bathtub to close to toilet. Other than that excellent!

"Affordable, clean lodging"
The staff at this hotel were very nice and the room was clean. Like everyone has said, the rooms are super small. It worked for me, but for two people, it would be a very tight squeeze. If you have luggage, even harder. Not impossible if you get along well. There are some marks on the wall that made it look less clean than it was, but this is from people bumping their items into it because of how small the room is- lol. The location was a little iffy for a single female- not necessarily bad, but a little too isolated in the evening for midtown. It wasn't a bad walk with a rollaway suitcase to Penn Station, and a great location for Chelsea galleries, which is why I stay in midtown. The mattress was nothing special, but fine. I would stay here again.

"A place to lie down"
Reminded me of a youth hostel situation. Room was so small it wasn't possible to walk around the bed which made it an awkward space to be in. The shared bathroom was no problem, but the clogged up shower drain made showering gross. Glad that I brought flip flops. The hotel staff I dealt with were more than pleasant. Great location, fun neighborhood. No frills. Not worth what we paid, but would be a good emergency place to stay over in the Big City. Would only recommend this to a friend after explaining what they would be up against and if they couldn't find a regular hotel first.
