"Adequate for quick overnight stay"
Needed a bed for an overnight stay so I didn't have to schlep home after a show and back in 5 hours later for work. Small room, a little musty until I turned on the air conditioning. Adequate for what I needed but not the level of comfort I would want when traveling

"Amazing location!"
The hotel is small but very centrally located. Our room was on the 9th floor and I heard no noise from inside the hotel or outside the entire time we were there. The room was a good size for NYC with a queen size bed, 2 bedside tables, a dresser and a small, round table and parson's chairs. The bathroom was a nice size but the door didn't open the whole way. It met with an interior wall in the bathroom. A person of larger size may have difficulty. Also, the threshold at the bathroom door was quite high and caused a couple of stumbles both in and out of the door. The towels were large and fluffy and the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The entire room had been updated and was very clean and quite charming. Biggest drawback for me was not enough plugs for electronic devices! There was no fridge, microwave or coffeepot in the room but that was not an issue for us. The lobby was blah and the elevators were slow. I wasn't overwhelmed by the warm fuzzies (not!) coming from the staff but we weren't there to see them anyway! There is no designated drop off zone for the hotel. With no bellman, luggage is dragged up about 3 steps then through the pull/push doors. Not a huge problem, though. All in all, I would stay there again just for the location and the comfy bed!

" Reasonable priced parking across the street. "
Good location next to Hells kitchen neighborhood. I normally take the train but had to drive this time so the reasonably priced parking conveniently located across the street was ideal. In and off Manhattan from the Lincoln Tonnele was also super convenient.

"Great midtown location; old hotel with a facelift"
Apparently this hotel has been a hotel for a long time. So the core of it is still old (old marble staircases, no central A/C, old elevators). Which gives it a nice sense of history; I kept wondering - who stayed in this room in the 50s? What is super nice is that the staff have lived on with the hotel - the gentleman who checked me in worked there for 20+ years. Which is to say - they are not pretentious, and were genuine and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable. Being in the heart of midtown, it was loud at night. I would probably stay here again because I like a hotel with character and a story to tell. And I like the modern renovations - it had a cool modern flair built onto an old foundation. I also loved the company they used for soap/shampoo/conditioner - Apotheke, locally sourced from Brooklyn (per the bottle.)

"A place to lie down"
Reminded me of a youth hostel situation. Room was so small it wasn't possible to walk around the bed which made it an awkward space to be in. The shared bathroom was no problem, but the clogged up shower drain made showering gross. Glad that I brought flip flops. The hotel staff I dealt with were more than pleasant. Great location, fun neighborhood. No frills. Not worth what we paid, but would be a good emergency place to stay over in the Big City. Would only recommend this to a friend after explaining what they would be up against and if they couldn't find a regular hotel first.

"Super convenient!"
I decided to stay here because it was directly across from Penn Station which makes arriving and departing by train very easy. The staff was lovely - friendly, helpful. I got free wifi and a free movie which I hadn't expected. The hotel is clean but shabby. Carpets in the rooms could stand to be replaces and the furniture is pretty battered. Very comfortable bed, though. If you're obsessed with cleanliness the bathtubs may not be for you. The one in my room was clean but very stained with...? The hotel is huge so your room - as mine was- may be a lengthy hike to the elevators and there was often a wait for the elevators to arrive. Breakfast was included in my stay -otherwise it's $10.00. The breakfast was strange. Juices, coffee, tea but also big platters of cold cuts and processed cheese slices. Cut up baguettes and "pastries" that were obviously packaged. No toast, no muffin type pastries. Oddly- since breakfast begins at 7 AM - there were chocolate chip cookies ( again packaged) and one morning there was some kind of fruit bread - maybe banana? Cut up melon -which was what I ended up with. All in all it was fine. I was only in my room to shower and sleep and wasn't looking for anything fancy. Next door to Mavy's and there are several good cafes within a block.Obviously close to all public transportation -although Penn Station can be a nightmare to navigate. It's noisy because of the location but if you want a safe, relatively clean place to sleep it's fine. And inexpensive
