First problem: Our key card didn't work, not once, but after a second attempt by the front desk to reprogram it. They had to send an engineer up to handle it, and this ultimately meant I had to take three trips to the lobby from the 6th floor. Second: A loud alarm, maybe from the nearby elevators, went off in the middle of the night for at least ten minutes. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice, but everything is a bit worn and dated. The suite was comfortable and clean, and aside from the problems, the stay was a good value.

THE YOUNG MAN AT THE REGISTRATION DESK WAS EXTREMELY CORDIAL AND WAS VERY HELP FULL. THE PROPERTY HAS A LOT OF OLD HISTEREY. WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN .

Perfect
We loved the Santa Maria Inn. For the price, can’t be beat. We chose a tower room so it was spacious with a cute window seat. The pool was nice and warm and open late so we did some night swimming. Small hot tub but it was warm and comfy for our group. I peaked in the wine bar and definitely want to go back the next time we stay. Everyone was very friendly and social. I heard from a local friend that the restaurant is amazing but we didn’t have time to visit this trip. We definitely will next time!

First impression as one enters lobby is a musty odor which is a surprise. Historic part of the Inn could use better way-finding signs.Room needed detail cleaning of ceiling light fixtures, baseboards, etc. Request for clean towels was prompt but did not pick up trash or wet towels( 2nd request on towels was good). Bar drinks and restaurant were great! Delicious food, well-priced & friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again as have family in Santa Maria, CA.

Jimmy greeted me and was friendly and offered plenty of info. I did think it was strange he let me know immediately that they were almost at capacity and wouldn’t be able to switch my room if there were issues. Then I got to my room and realized why he was so proactive. The room was dirty. The bathroom was covered in long black hair. We even found hair on the sheets. The bedding was stained. The room smelled dirty and the whole place was dingy with no place for us to get ready. We wouldn’t walk on the carpet barefoot if you paid us to. There’s zero counter space, the bathtub constantly ran. I could go on. I will never stay here or recommend this place again. If you are interested in the historical aspect, stop by and walk through and leave.
