Our stay at Barcelo Gran Faro

We had a great time, the staff was very attentive and make you feel they have known you for long time. However, it would have been nice to know beforehand that you could not get in the beach in this area. Also, activities in San Jose should be emphasized because we ended up going to San Lucas most of the time because that's where everything was happening. Besides those 2 things everything else was great.

Low cost resort running on a very tight budget

It is clear this hotel is running on a very tight budget. They count pennies and nicleks in everything. The staff always left us with only one towel for two people after cleaning, they didn't replace the content of the fridge or the coffee bags. You can see they don't have enough staff. The actitud of the staff ia very good and you can see they try their best but they are just not enough. The service at the restaurants is poor. Be aware you can't swim in the beach due to strong currents. If you love to be in salt water, this is NOT the place for you. The Internet connection is horrible, although it is a service you have to pay separetely.

Dear Lalesander, first of all let me apologize for the impression que left on your last stay, be sure that we are going to take the necessity measures to fix the lack of towels and amenities left in the room, also thank you for mentioning our staff as a positive pro in our hotel, they work really hard to keep everyone happy and pampered. We don’t recommend swimming in the ocean because the currents are a little strong and we want to keep every guest as safe as possible. Nice quiet hotel

Met or exceeded expectations

Pros: Location. I was able to run outside of the resort. Multiple food options. Room location in relation to pool. Gym location. It was quiet on the beach.
Cons: Consistent room towel service. More English TV channels. The blue mats they put on the tables at the buffet restaurant were disgusting...dirty.
Location: shopping, beach, pool, golf, horses, dolphins
Lovely place to stay. We would stay here again. Fairly quiet and easy to relax. Everything seemed clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Pool space was sufficient to lounge. Easy access to the beach. I am a runner and it was easy to go out for a run. If you are a runner and looking for someplace safe to run but not on the beach...this was a great location. I was easily able to run 6 miles and felt safe. Food was good, multiple options.

Beautiful hotel on beach with good food and drinks

Hotel is beautiful and food very good, but the beds are very hard and what Mexican restaurant died not have flan for dessert ??

Excellent place

Pros: Location
Cons: add Mexican amenities such as mariachis and Mexican nights during the week
Location: Was closer to Downtown San Jose de Los Cabos
Staff all around were very friendly, Martha and Ruth keeping our room clean at all times. Nery and Jorge went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I will definetly recommend this place

Nice area. Beautiful beach.

Our room was nice with a beautiful view of the beach. We had the premium package, which was nice for free room service and fast check in. We got a late check out of 1:30 for free which was awesome since our flight was later in the day. The VIP staff seemed to be a little distracted rather then greeting people coming into the VIP lounge or seeing if we needed help. The bartenders, restaurants, and cleaning staff were excellent. If you do order room service you can't be a picky person. 90% of the time something was missing from the order, or the order was wrong. It was hard to communicate with the person who answered the phone for room service orders because we don't speak Spanish very well. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, and don't miss the Mexican Fiesta night on Fridays! The sky bar was fun and the bartender there was the best!! You can easily walk to the Mega, which is a store similar to Walmart and you can walk to Main Square in about 20 minutes. Main Square is the downtown area of San Jose Del Cabo, which has sites to see along with restaurants and stores. You can book all your excursions and/or rent a car from the hotel lobby which is very handy, and the people were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

Relaxing and Fun!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo. The location is relaxing, peaceful,maintained and clean! We have traveled a lot and the Barcelo is a GOOD VALUE with enough options for food and drinks. Make sure to get reservations for the onsite restaurants. The food is average to good. We got an ocean view room that was perfect! The beach is beautiful to walk along even though it is not swimmable. The resort is a 15 minute cab/bus ride to Cabo San Lucas for shopping and bars. The staff was polite and helpful! I want to thank the staff for making my husbands 50th Birthday special!
