My boyfriend and I stayed at the Barcelo for my birthday. This was not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice but since we waited to book a few weeks prior, this was the most economical. The staff was extremely nice for the most part. We reserved an ocean front room. When we got to the room, the only view of the ocean was if you turned to the right; there was a glimpse of the ocean. Not happy, I went back and requested what we paid for and we were moved to another room. When we entered the room, the bathroom floor was covered with water, the toilet was wet and there was an open water bottle on the counter. Went back to request the bathroom be cleaned and we went to have lunch. When we returned to the room, the water was gone but we did not know if it was b/c it dried up or was really cleaned; the open water bottle was still there... I shower alot and like fresh wash clothes each time. I left a note for housekeeping (in Spanish) to please leave 5 (instead of 3) but when they cleaned the room the first day, took the note but only left one washcloth total. On another occasion, I went to the desk and asked for 2 additional wash clothes, was told they would be sent up but they never came. The following day when we returned to the room, they had not come to clean it. I called and ask that they clean it and received a follow up call saying they would be up in 15 min so we left for downtown. When we returned that evening, the room still had not been cleaned. Also the water just gets warm.
