"Decent digs with great access to Manhattan"
We were here for three nights for a wedding in Long Island City. We enjoyed our stay for the most part, the exception being check in. We checked in at around 1am after a long flight. We were given a room with two double beds. I promptly inquired why we were given this arrangement when my reservation from Travelocity specifically stated king bed. I was told that they can't guarantee whatever Travelocity says and nothing else was available. I was unhappy but didn't have the energy to argue so I went back to the room. While I was in the shower we received a call telling us that they had magically found a king room for us. Other than the fact that we had to switch rooms after mostly unpacking our dress clothes, this was satisfactory for us and the room we were given was much better and had an amazing view of the city. The rooms are small but clean, the bathrooms as well. The bathroom amenities are relatively low quality given the cost of the rooms. Ask for a room on the West side of the building for excellent views of Manhattan. The hotel is very convenient to the N train that goes straight to Manhatten and turns south hitting many of the more tourist friendly Metro stops. The walk from the hotel is 3 safe and easy blocks. The neighborhood is safe, although you can find seediness if you go far. There's some bars and restaurants up on 36th street near the train station. There's also a nice little bar and grill called Dutch Kills Central about 1.5 blocks away.

"Nice rooms"
Overall great experience. Location is good, close to restaurants/ public transit/ bike rentals too! The heating system is noisy at night. That was the annoying part. No vending machines but they have water at the front desk for $1.00. Breakfast not included which I thought was standard.

"Great hotel for your stay in NYC."
We stayed in thei hotel for our NYC trip. It is beautiful and clean. It has a subway stop across the street and another one just 3 blocks away. We needed to use both and it was really convenient. The rooms have shower stalls instead of a tub/shower combo and that is the main reason we even booked the room. The hotel is across from all the subway lines and you can hear them screeching if you are outside or have your window open but when you are inside the hotel and your room, you don't hear a thing. The breakfast is average and not really worth the money. If you stay here you will want to ask for a room as far away from the linen closet and elevator as we heard clicking from the elevator all night and staff were going in and out of the linen closet in the middle of the night and keep us up. We moved rooms to the opposite end of the floor and it was quite. The hotel staff is very professional and friendly and very accommodating. Great location and really clean, this is a great place to stay.
