"Very nice hotel close to all of the action."
We stayed at The Strand Palace for four nights and loved being centrally located. We had requested an early check in, as our flight arrived at 10am, and our room was ready for us! We had a standard double room, which was a little small but we did not spend a lot of time there so it did not matter much. We included the breakfast, which was worth it! We took advantage of the exercise facility and the bar.

    Out and About in London

If you're setting out on a weekend in London, you may want to start at the very center by visiting Trafalgar Square. There is always something happening in this magnificent urban space, and it seems like everyone in the city passes through at least once a day. The National Gallery is on one side of the Square, and contains an incredibly extensive art collection. After a fortifying lunch, you can catch a taxi to Buckingham Palace. If you arrive there during its summertime open period, you can even score a state room tour. The nearby St. James's Park is a refreshing place to rest, and afterwards, you can continue toward the Thames River to catch views of Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.

For travelers staying in 5 star hotels in London, it's always simple to take the Tube or a double-decker bus to Kensington Gardens, where you can view the Peter Pan Statue, the ornate Albert Memorial, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. On your second day, you'll probably want to experience London's contemporary side and spend your evening dancing at a stylish club like Kensington's The Roof Gardens, or XOYO in vibrant East London.

    Eating and Drinking

The best hotels in London may inspire you to feel like royalty, like when you're having lunch on the terrace of The Orangery, an 18th-century greenhouse in Kensington Palace. Fortnum & Mason is a food wonderland for shoppers, and you can sample world-class fare and service at top-rated Holy Smoke in the Wimbledon neighborhood.
