"Good location but..."
Good location and easy access to Westminster station. Room was very nice and bathroom had a wonderful shower. The only problem was at check-in. We booked what looked like a good rate for location, but was still a lot, and showed a picture of a nice room with a king size bed and the hotel site showed a view of Big Ben, but the room we booked was an inside room without a window. I did not expect to view Big Ben, but for as much as these rooms go for I thought we would have a window with some kind of city view. No. I did not see anywhere in my booking that it would be an inside room and be small. At check-in we were told we could upgrade for 50 pounds per night. This was just for a window, no view to speak of, just the street. Just be aware. This rate also did not include the breakfast.

"Definitely a 5-star Hotel"
This hotel met every expectation we had. The room was enormous compared to standard fare and had every convenience advertised. The staff (as seems typical in England) was extremely courteous, helpful, and never seemed to be pushing for tips. The location is excellent and withing walking distance of several great restaurants and the tube. The only negative I would mention is the hotel bar. I know London is an expensive town, but a martini ran the equivalent of $* US and a Bloody Mary $*! It's a beautiful bar, but this seemed absurd. Try the nearby bars which are much more reasonable. Nevertheless, this is one fine hotel. Rick from Houston - visited12/09

"Elegant old hotel in excellent location"
The great feature of this hotel is that it is connected directly to Victoria Station. You walk off the train and can go into the hotel lobby. The staff was friendly, efficient, and extremely helpful. We ate in three different restaurants in the hotel and they were all good. The formal restaurant is Chinese, but offered the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. The room was clean, as was the modern bathroom. Two slight negative comments: lighting was dim, and there was a definite lack of plugs for appliances and cell phones. Being located at the station, we also had immediate access to the underground as well as the national railroad. The station also featured many places to purchase food and sundries, all without going outside. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to London

"Convenient location to underground station "
Very good location. However the rooms were dirty and light bulbs out in the bathroom. USB plug did not work. Fire alarm went of when I dried my hair with hairdryer! Went out early and got back at 5pm to my room not made up. Manager was not very interested.

"picture perfect upscale London"
we arrived at 7:30 am .. to find a room ready and waiting ! we had called and requested an early check in .. which was 11 am .. never thinking that we would be lucky enough to be able to check in at 7:30 am .. and we were ! We dined on a fabulous breakfast and headed to nap!.. Our room was beautiful and spacious. A four poster bed and luxurious linens . Terry Cloths Robes and a wonderful shower head ... everything you need after a long flight . the hotel is in a great local and the neighborhood is just stunning .. The hotel has high tea and a lovely bar for cocktails and a living room area with fireplaces perfect for an after dinner glass of wine. . I can't wait to return .

Our Guide To A Cheap Stay In London

“You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” – Samuel Johnson

One reads the quote above and thinks it must be overstated. It can’t be true that a city is so fantastic that people can’t pull themselves away from it. But that statement is far from exaggerated and one walk through these fabled streets helps to validate Mr. Jonhson’s quote. Why? Because letting your eyes gaze upon the beauty that is St. Paul’s Cathedral is a must and going for a walk through Hyde Park will rejuvenate the soul. And when it’s all said and done, retiring back to one of the hotels in London is like relaxing in your own home.

    Where to stay in London?

When you glance over a map of London, the many different districts and neighborhoods can make it hard to know where to stay, but Travelocity has some recommendations for the best places to stay in London:

    • The Rembrandt: Located in south Kensington, this historic city accommodation has a number of room options ranging from classic rooms with twin and full-size beds to multiple room suites that resemble penthouse flats. There’s also the Palette Restaurant and Carvery where you can go for a delicious meal and then head to the 1606 Lounge Bar or the Conservatory Bar. And the amenities spell out a new form of comfort with an indoor pool, health center, and spa facilities that will suit your needs just fine, making it one of the top hotels in London.
    • The Bailey’s Hotel London: In between the happening neighborhoods of Chelsea and Kensington, this wonderful hotel is located in an old Victorian-era townhouse. The quaint rooms are great for relaxing after a long day gallivanting about town. Take a seat at the Olives Restaurant and enjoy a tasty Italian meal. Or you could just order room service and have your penne al vodka brought to your door.
    • Sofitel London St. James: Sure, you could book a single room with a twin bed, but where’s the fun in that? You’re on vacation. You deserve to treat yourself to one of their incredible Prestige Suites. And don’t let the preferential treatment to yourself stop there, make sure to have a proper spa day. We think a Cinq Mondes Youthfulness Ko Bi Do facial ritual followed by a martini and manicure treatment should do the trick.

    Best luxury hotels

The days of you shacking up in a backpacker’s hostel are long over. You’re older and more refined now. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the most luxurious London Hotels:

    • St. Ermins Hotel, Autograph Collection: When you’re done sightseeing for the day, return to the comforts of this fantastic hotel in Westminster and sit down for afternoon tea and scones.
    • W London Leicester Square: Not only is this luxurious accommodation in Leicester Square comfortable, but it also happens to be near some of the most happening areas of the city. Places like Trafalgar Square, Chinatown, and Piccadilly Circus are just a few blocks away.
    • The Russell Hotel: If you’re looking for a place to stay in the vibrant historic district of Bloomsbury, stop your search in this incredible enclave of the city.

    Things to Do

It’s easy to get lost in a city of this magnitude, but sometimes that can be a good thing. Especially when you stumble upon such treats to the eyes as Hyde Park, one of the Royal Parks of London. From there, you exit on the south side of the park and make your way to Harrods department store and shop for anything from Egyptian style clothing to food and drink from faraway lands. Continuing your accidental, self-guided journey through England’s capital, you come across a building that looks like it jumped off the pages of a fairytale book. You stare in awe at the beauty of Buckingham Palace and wonder how man could build such a site. Let the day dreaming begin.

When the time comes for you to make a temporary escape to a land that’s across the pond, look no further than our amazing deals on cheap hotels in London.
