The bathroom shower curtain had mold on it. The key card to the room never worked and had to get it activated several times a day. I was there for a week and it was very inconvenient.

Convenient Hotel for the High Street area

Pros: Clean, staff helpful.
Cons: More information in the rooms as to what is in the area and facilities in the hotel itself.
Location: For our purpose location was good. Near subway for easy access to rest of the city. Museums High Street shops and parks within walking distance.
Hotel convenient to subway, some nice eating and shopping places in area. Was good base for our purposes.

Great location

Pros: The location was perfect.
Cons: The line for breakfast was quite long but the staff worked hard to get everyone a seat.
Location: It is close to the tube stop and there is shopping a short walk away.
My family of 5 stayed in two rooms at the Copthorne Tara Hotel at the end of November. It was our daughters first time to London. The location was great - just a short walk to a tube station and shopping. We included the full English breakfast in our stay and we were very happy with the selection of foods. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was so much to see and do that we were only there to sleep and eat breakfast!

Nice Hotel - Great Location in Kensington

Pros: The staff was very attentive.
Location: Kensington Palace, several restaurants.
The hotel is quite nice, offering several options for meals. It is in a great location in Kensington. The restaurant had a great staff, one person stood out, Valeria was very attentive with my elderly uncles, and sweet and spent time talking to them. They couldn't stop speaking of how great their time with her was.

You get what you pay for

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms should be renovated. Housekeeping is in drastic need of training.
Location: High Street Kensington has many nearby stores and restaurants. Tube stop nearby.
Interiors completely threadbare. Bathroom floor dirty upon check in. Staff pleasant but under-trained.

Nice hotel, just off bus & Tube lines.

Pros: Location was excellent for most tourist attractions. Great area.
Cons: Sorry Wifi not included in price, as was $15 more. Hairdryer didn't work. Had to give credit card # to make a local call.
Location: Whole Foods, Marks & Spencer food courts, Cafe Nerro handy. Just behind High Street Kensington tube station. #9bus to Trafalgar Sq, #49 to Oxford Tube
Comfortable and had quiet room not on the train side. Having small refrigerator helpful for breakfasts.

Barely serviceable travelers hotel, central London

Pros: The bathroom was spotless and the tub was great. The location was great. Did not get bedbugs.
Cons: Tacky, dirty decor, thin walls. At the very least they could provide free wifi in the main lounge.
Location: you will be in the center of London so there is no end of things to do.
Once again, I do not understand how this place could have gotten a 4 star rating. Room was very noisy, room service was expensive and TERRIBLE. The smell of stale cigarettes permeates the halls.

Nice area, outdated rooms

Pros: Location
Cons: Bathrooms, variety in breakfast
Location: Kensigton Palace
The hotel is in a very convenient area within 5 minutes of the High Street Kensington under ground station. The Kensington Palace is about 15 minutes walk as well. Rooms look outdated and need some freshening up. Bathroom shower curtain was really bad and was stinking. The bathroom really needs some remodeling done. Breakfast was good, but the same thing everyday.

Good size room in Kensington area

Pros: The proximity to the High Street Kensington tube station made our travels convenient. We felt quite safe in this upscale area, even at night.
Cons: Breakfast could be easily improved by turning up the flame on the chafing dishes. Went out for breakfast for our last two days just to get hot food!
Location: Balans Soho and Sopranos Restaurants nearby were great. The gardens at Kensington Palace were a good walk after a long flight.
After reading various negative reviews of the hotel, we were quite pleased to find our rooms were sparkling clean, comparable to U.S. chains in size, and very quiet. (Do ask for the quiet side of the hotel - rooms 966/968 were quiet) The staff were helpful, particularly those at the door. When the private taxi that I hired was late, the young man on duty was quick to offer to track him down. Breakfast (included in our reservation) was more than adequate in choices, but sadly, we rarely had a hot item that was above lukewarm. Choose only from the middle of the chafing dish for the best chance of warm food. The restaurant in the space that serves breakfast was also disappointing at night. Go out to eat!

Not terrible but wouldn't stay here again.

Pros: Location
Cons: Room furniture needs to be replaced.
The location of the hotel is very convenient. We were disappointed in the room. Everything in the room was worn and really needed to be updated but it was a clean room. We stayed at another hotel in London at the end of the trip for the same price and were amazed at the difference in hotels.
