Bargain Basement

Bummer. This place was a disappointment. Crappy dark rooms. Curtains broken. Shower door doesn't close. A Roach wandering the room one night. A huge gap under the door. Poor tv reception. The keys didn't work on the doors. Good points: right on the strip next to the RTC bus line. Definite do not recommend.

Economy quality hotel but great staff

Pros: Great price with a good location for bus trips and visiting other area sites. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: New pillows. Offer an extra blanket during the winter months. Fix the shower doors so water from the shower doesn't leak onto the floor.
Location: Located next to Circus Circus. Several places to eat within a short walk. Small sundries shop also located next door.
This hotel is just what the finance department would like if you are traveling on a business trip with a tight budget. Accommodations are minimal but acceptable. We stayed in a first floor room that was drafty and let the chilly January air in. The room was overall clean. Beds are a bit hard and the pillows were a little too worn out for our liking. A small coffee pot, small safe, and a hair dryer were provided in the room. Our room did not have a dresser, ironing board or iron that we have become accustomed to having on business trips. Housekeeping did a good job on most of the days. We stayed for 6 days. The check-in/check-out was easy. The staff was always pleasant and very helpful whenever we asked for anything. We were able to print our boarding passes for no charge in the main lobby. The morning continental breakfast was a nice welcomed touch. Coffee was always hot and tasted better than expected. I would not recommend this hotel for families. The rooms are small and you can hear the other guests as well as the traffic from the street. The shower head was set up for a short person and was difficult for someone taller than 5'2" to use. The bathroom was very chilly unless you left the door open to the main room for it to get heat. The main entry door to the room did not always latch properly so be sure to check that the door is locked when you leave the room.

vegas trip

Pros: Price
Cons: Get the safes in ALL rooms working as advertised in the advertisement, The TV only had 9 avaible channels.
Location: Vegas Strip
The room I was initially given had no working safe, after discussing with the manager on duty I was given another room in which had a working safe. As a walking tourist I was given a room far back into the complex which after much sightseeing of the town was very difficult to muster the energy just to make it to the room. I had reserved for 9 days . I asked management for a room closer to the street and they offered a room closer but ALL of the safes were inoperable, I elected to stay in the assigned room. The fourth day the cleaning lady while making the bed knocked down the headboard which took out the electrical outlet which powered the lights by the bed. I reported it to the front desk and was told it would be taken care of. Each time I passed by the office I would mention it,when I checked out 5 days after making management aware of the problem the electrical outlet still was not fixed!!

A real value is you don't mind only getting the basics in accommodations.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy, loud ac, no bathtub, door shared with adjacent room, limited television stations
THE GOOD: I chose this motel because of its location and the great price. It's on the strip right next door to Circus Circus, and has free off-street parking. The complimentary breakfasts include fruit, oatmeal, coffee, bagels, muffins, juice--I appreciated that. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. There was some available 24 hrs plus there seemed to be an employee monitoring the parking lot most of the time. THE BAD: There was an adjoining door from my room to the next room. You could hear sounds from the room quite easily. Many of the rooms did not have a bathtub but the shower worked fine. The decor was sparse and dorm-like. The room was stuffy so that you pretty much had to have the AC on all night. There were a couple of transients hanging out in the parking lot. My wake up call came 25 minutes late.

This hotel was dirty with a broken shower.

Pros: a cheap place to sleep on new years, acoss from the cheap riviara buffett
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast
I stayed on new years. It's quite far from the action on the strip. It's about 1.5 miles from harrah's. I don't think the room had been vacuumed from stuff I found on the floor. The shower knob was broken. You would spend 10 minutes trying to find warm water. Then 10 minutes trying to turn it off again. Breakfast stoped at 8am. They had the for thought to move check out time but not breakfast. Next time I will spend the extra money and stay farther down on the strip like at harrah's. But it was a place to sleep and I guess that's all you really need.

Very close to sand exhibition center, and to the strip bus station.

Great value, great location

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, closest to freeway access
Please notice the string of negative reviews were all from years past. I have no doubt this place has been ugly in the past but take a look today. We come here from Boise and last December we stood in line for over an hour and a half in the lobby ofmega-hotel next door only to get mediocre room more distant in their own hotel than if we had been in the Travelodge that we saw out our window. So next trip we decided to give it a try. Very low price, room had clearly been recently remodeled, woman at the front desk checked us in in just a minute or two and was very helpful and pleasant. Didn't have to navigate a huge multilevel parking lot, parked in front of our room and were in our beds two hours quicker than our Circus, Circus experience. Took home a refrigerator magnet from this Travelodge, went there again this trip. All was ditto. We will always stay at Travelodge when we're in Vegas. This place may not fill all your needs, and Bellagio will enjoy your business, I'm sure, or maybe try Trump's. Me, I'll use the money difference enjoying other Vegas activities and get a very nice stay right on the strip, just yards away from the freeway exit. E. Y. bT
