Old and Past its time

Posted Oct 21, 2016
Location: North end of the stripe and away from all the action.
I have travel a lot during my career and this hotel is run down. The walls were so thin that I was keep up at night by the snoring noises next door. They wanted to charge a "Resort Charge" and this is no resort.

Air + sewerage smell in some rooms

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Pros: Attractions, restaurants.
Cons: Casino, smell (lobby and room)
Location: Walking distance to mono-rail, not too far from the real strip. (~10,000-15,000 steps to the Observation wheel on the other side)
One out of three rooms had persistent stench, it turned out to come out of the bathroom (sewerage). In a standard room sink is located in the room itself which is sub-optimal to put it nicely. Their suites are excellent though. Pool is great, so is the tower entertainment (top of the roof, lounge, etc). Pin-up show was great and you'd get 25-50% on all Stratosphere attractions. Casino is very mediocre, all dealers are 50++, some barely speak English and/or rude.

First & last time to ever stay at Stratosphere.

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Cons: Impossible to get a server in the casino & bartenders were also scarce and slow.
Location: Nothing near this hotel. No reason to stay at this end of the strip.
The rooms were clean, but badly in need of updates and repair. Felt like staying at a Motel6 in Vegas, not acceptable. Spent several hours in the casino, where there were little to no servers. Would not recommend this hotel.

For the price we paid, we expected at much nicer room; we have stayed in best westerns for less that were better. We had to ask for more cups after 2 days of them not being replaced. The towel rack was coming off the wall and the sink drain had a funky smell to it and took forever to drain. Lastly the ac unit is extremely noisy. I also would like to mention that it states on your website that you are not pet friendly, but we saw multiple dogs in the hotel that were not service dogs.

Fun but needs updating

Posted Oct 13, 2016
Pros: Fun activities in the Stratosphere and magnificent views of Vegas.
Cons: Needs updating and further away from the action on the strip.
Location: The Beatles - Kive show @ the Mirage was great. The gray lines Southtown Grand Canyon your with helicopter ride was breathtaking akthough a very long
Some of the rooms need updating to include bathrooms, plumbing & HVAC system. Compared to other hotels lobbies & casinos it was more smiley than others. Sewage smell in some hallways due to old plumbing I was told. Worn down toilet seats in room. Did get changed to new room next day when available so was accommodating to our concerns.

The staff is not welcoming, Hotel is dated

Posted Oct 11, 2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Not much unless you like homeless
Upon check in we were informed that the King room we booked was not available and were given a double in it's place. Upon asking if a King would be available we were told to check back in the morning, after 8 attempts over the next 2 days and the same story it is not available we gave up. There was no apology or credit given for the wrong room. The room had no refrigerator, hair dryer, the caulk around the tub was black and falling out, we were on a non smoking floor but people were still smoking. The food places in the hotel were expensive, and there was no place to get away from the smell of smoke. The part of the strip the hotel is on is over run by transients, homeless and mentally ill, beggars at every corner and no police presence. Do yourself a favor go to the Belagio, Trump, Ceasars, Mandalay Bay, etc, the minimal savings is not worth it, should you want to visit the tower pay the $20, but stay somewhere nice.

Spend more money and stay somewhere else

Posted Oct 7, 2016
Location: Nothing. This hotel is far away and a daunting walk from everything.
Sketchy neighborhood and even though it may technically on the strip it's a long way from the other hotels, shows, shopping, etc. The only good thing about this hotel is the tower and observation view. The views were stunning but sadly its the only good thing about this hotel. Spend a little more and get a better hotel down the strip.

Affordable hotel but too far from the excitement.

Posted Oct 4, 2016
The hotel was comfortable and clean but too far from the strip and fremont. I didnt appreciate that hotel front desk tried to sell us a more expensive room. Her facial expression gave us the impresion that the room we rented from travelocity was in shambles. So noisy and difficult to hear her. The constant bothersom of people trying to sell us timeshares located at the hotel was extremely annoying.

Overbooked and didn't make it right

Posted Sep 23, 2016
We got to the stratosphere late at night...the flight was a late flight. They tell us that there are no premium King rooms left and they will have to put us in a lower 2 queen room for the night. Come back tomorrow and we will get you in the right room. We get there at 1pm and they tell us come back in an hour nothing is available yet. We get back at 230pm and they tell us to come back in an hour again. At this point I tell the young lady that we need this resolved as we are not in vegas to deal with room problems. Suddenly she has an upgraded room for $20 more that has a jetted tub and has been freshly remodeled. We go for it and we get to the room....its the room that we were supposed to have to begin with. The room was not freshly remodeled, it was missing a lamp and the tub was not jetted...just oversized. No one cared and neither do I anymore. Just beware of the stratosphere. They will overbook and not make it right.
