OMG the check-in. It took 45 minutes.

We got there early hoping to check-in early, but understanding we might not get a room yet. The (very pleasant) gentleman at the counter took 20 minutes to check us in (this was hundreds of keystrokes; he was working quickly but the system clearly demanded an absurd amount of input). He then said the room wasn't ready, but for an extra $30 they could try to get one before check-in (4:00) and call me when it was available. Sure, sounds fine. We sat in the hotel bar for three hours, got no call, then got in line around 3:45 to get a room. We waited (third in line) for at least 30 minutes before being helped (again, the staff appeared to be doing what they could; the problem was on the backend). After telling the man (again, very pleasant) at the desk we had checked in, but just needed a room, he handed us a key in about 30 seconds and we were in. This was after 4:00. We still found the $30 charge on the bill.
And then we hemmorhaged money for four days. I get that it's Vegas, and that it's Caesers, but it was absurdly expensive to eat/drink/shop there.
The room was nice, though the hot tub didn't work. The rest of the hotel was quite nice, and full of amazing statuary. It is definitely a beautiful hotel, and worth visiting just to see the scenery. We had a good time, but would definitely stay somewhere else next time.
