This hotel was mediocre at best. The staff was polite “enough”. I’ll start with the positives: the pools were very nice, the drink selection and happy hour were great, the open air feel of the lobby and hotel were also very nice. The gentleman that checked us in was very informative and helpful but unfortunately we did not see him again. The “activities hut” where you rent snorkel gear and paddle boards had a gentleman that worked the first few days we there which was extremely nice and helpful; however, the last 3 days there was a woman that was rude and I got the impression that she really didn’t want to get up and do her job. Negatives: I found a roach in the kitchenette area on the second day, the “amenities fee” of $20 per day basically covers the pool use because everything else has an additional charge. I’ve never visited a resort where the “amenities fee” did not include the gym. They charge an additional $5 per day and claim the you receive a “discounted rate”. The gym was also outdated, small and dirty. So....on top of your $20 per day amenities fee you also have to pay for daily parking and use of the gym. When or if we return to Maui we will stay at a different location. We just felt it was very overpriced and they nickel and dime you to death on things that are usually included at other resorts. AND the gym door monitor was VERY RUDE!
