A superb country hotel
This is a really nice country hotel, clean and comfortable and friendly. The rooms are comfortably Scandanavian, with a small sitting room separated from the bedroom by an efficiency kitchen and the bathroom. The entry door opens to an open hallway with a coat rack, and off the bedroom is a small patio with a table and chairs overlooking a back lawn including a hammock strung between two trees. The kitchen is functional with a small refrigerator and a stovetop, but if you plan to cook bring your own pots and cooking utensils. There is a kettle for boiling water but no coffee maker and no microwave. But hopefully you won't be cooking- the hotel has a superb restaurant with an extensive upscale dinner menu. Breakfast is gratis and is a smorgasbord with cheese, fruit, yogurt, granola, rolls, hardboiled eggs, and the most incredible homemade bread I've had in europe. And they don't mind if you make a cheese sandwich for lunch later. The dining room is comfortable and it opens onto a patio with tables and chairs outside, which is super if the weather is good. They also will provide a bicycle or two for your stay, which is exceptional, the island is eminently bikeable (everyone bikes) because it's flat and small. A few caveats: 1) If you drink decaf coffee bring your own, as is the case all over Denmark, decaf is rare. 2) To make a full size bed they push two twins together. this is not ideal, ask for a room with a regular queen or full if that's what you want.

Det var en skuffelse at se hvor meget det er forfaldet fra vores besøg for nogle år siden. Maden var god,men detber mega små portioner.

Der var ingen personale til at tjekke ind. Da vi fandt en, måtte vedkommende løbe efter hjælp. I løbet af dagen kunne man ringe til et telefonnr ved behov for kontakt. Der var ikke personale til stede hele tiden. Havde 3 overnatninger, fik ikke skiftet håndklæder eller anden rengøring. Morgenmaden var god. Ved udtjek var det ikke muligt at finde personale, så vi måtte efterlade nøglen på skranken i receptionen.

En blandet fornøjelse
Nemt at booke og tjekke ind. Dejligt at sengene (også udtrækssofaen) var redt, da vi kom. Der var noget indelukket og en del døde insekter på vægge og lofter. Morgenmaden er fra 8 til 10, vi var der 9.40 og der var ikke meget tilbage. Faktisk så povert, at vi anden dagen købte morgenmad til værelset. Køleskabet smed en del vand, så det skulle vi lige tørre op. Middagen var lækker, men vi fik først forret 40 min efter vi havde sat os og med sultne børn er det længe. Vi havde booket bord, så det var ikke en overraskelse vi kom.

Manglende rengøring og almindelig vedligeholdelse
Forventede et hotel - men dette var ferielejligheder med morgenmad. Dvs ingen rengøring/service på værelserne under hele vores ophold i sommerferien. Nygaard er beliggende i smukke omgivelser og her kunne være så fint, men de kommer desværre ikke i mål … det bære tydelig præg af sparesomme personaleudgifter. - Der trænger til en grundig hovedrengøring både inde og ude (Eksempelvis spindelvæv i loftet, skidt i krogene på gulvet, mug i fugerne på badeværelset, beskidte havemøbler/hynder, indgangsdøren fyldt med spindelsvæv og træværket grønt af mug) Morgenmaden var ganske fin i hyggelig spisesal, hvor man selv skulle rydde af efter sig. Mulighed for at sidde ude - men det benyttede vi ikke, da havemøbler og fliser var fyldt med fuglelort.

Vi ankom en mandag og skulle rejse hjem torsdag. På værelset lå et prospekt, hvori man havde skrevet, at ophold over 2 overnatninger, ville udløse en "rengøring" altså rene håndklæder, rengøring af toilet og tømning af skraldespande. Desværre skete det ikke på vores værelse. Ellers var vi meget tilfreds med opholdet
