"Fabulous facility, awful food."
The hotel and grounds were beautiful and well keep, the staff helpful, pleasant and efficient. However, the food was awful and very expensive. I do not mind paying a high price for food, but the food in every restaurant at the Fairmount Orchard was between bad and awful. Hardly edible.

"Condo in great location for a reasonable price"
Started out real bad. I made the booking and my 80-year old mother and friend arrived and were denied access because I was not present. Same last name, same address, same credit card. Had to call Travelocity to change name and confirm with hotel. Very unpleasant. Then they felt bad got extra spacious rooms and whatever perks possible. Outside of that great service, great stay for two weeks. Lots of trips from that central location. Close to Waikoloa reposts and shops such as Queen's shops and King's shops. Traffic near non existent, compared to the incredibly busy Kona area. Costco close enough with their gas station and warehouse. Good restaurants in the vicinity, excellent Luau in Waikoloa hotels. Easy to reach Waimea, Honokaa with the Waipio Valley, easy to Hilo and Volcanic Park via the fast road, avoiding Kona traffic. A 10 minute walk to KTA store, also restaurants and a gas station right there. Fantastic views of sunsets and sunrises. Comical turkey flocks roam around, as well as the protected Nenes on the golf course. I like cooking and baking and everything is in the condos. Air conditioning is included in some packages not in others, make sure you know. I have stayed there before and was impressed. One thing needing attention is the Wifi which is intermittent and slow.

"We will be returning to Hali'i Kai"
If you are looking for a comfortable quiet getaway, this is it. The condo is beautifully decorated and has all the basics for preparing meals. There is a gas grill and hammocks in the common area off the lanai. The pool is spectacular though not very deep and not suited for lap swimming. We saw whales from the pool deck every day! There is a sea side trail for hiking or running that goes along the entire coast. There is not a sandy beach access close by but several snorkeling areas with rocky entry points. No life guards on duty. If you require a guard, Hapuna beach is beautiful and about half an hour north.

"Comfortable condo, great beach"
We spent four days here out of a two week stay on the big island so that we could be convenient to the beach. This turned out the be great because the beach was beautiful, whale-watching boats left from the beach, and the Lava Lava beach bar was perfect Hawaii. Plenty of good restaurants, but since we like to cook, we also appreciated the very convenient grocery store. The condo had a small pool and hot tub not too heavily used. We don't golf, but the golf course out our back patio looked nice.

"Spectacular vacation:)"
I cannot ay enough about the fabulous quality of this Hilton Hotel's surrounds & the staff. We read reviews before our stay and read that some had complaints that I consider unworthy of this Hotel. Complaints were made in regard to waiting to long for the tram which takes guests to their rooms. If those same people took the time to look at their surroundings they would have been consumed with the Islands beauty and wonderful people and would have forgotten about the 5 -7 minutes the tram took to take them to their stay. The Hilton Hotel offers a wonderful environment for kids (which ours are grown, but still a great place to swim), from pools to lagoons to cafes for lunch and adult beverages poolside. There is also an adult pool next to the Ocean Tower which was our choice. Don't miss the lounge chairs near the ocean and gold course. The winds blow the island breeze softly over you as you soak up the sunshine. When we arrived, Edward changed our room 3 times because of a small amount of construction near the gold course. He did not have to do this, but he did! Thank you Edward. There is also a great showing of the Han Dynasty Art from China with approximately 2000 pieces allowing a self guided walking tour in the walkways throughout each tower. The landscape is spectacular with native plants abundant. We cannot say enough about the staff and the entire Hilton Hotel. Thank you for a wonderful 10 days vacation.

"Stay at Aston Waikoloa Colony Villas"
Our overall experience was very pleasant after a few initial hiccups. We had flown for 11 hrs from Dulles, Virginia, to Atlanta, LA, then Hawaii with 2 children. We arrived at 11:30 pm, picked up our rental car and drove to the hotel. When we got to the hotel it was after hrs and the security gates were shut and needed a code to enter. The flight/ hotel itinerary had the after hrs numbers to call for access albeit it was printed below the address of the hotel were we would be staying. The hotel reception and the hotel accommodation were not on the same property We had not anticipated this or to put it another way, most hotels we have stayed in have their reception and rooms on the same building. We finally called the number on the itinerary, and a very helpful man, gave us the entry code to the reception mailbox, where we were giving further instructions of were the keys to the room were. and all the welcome package. It was now after 12 midnight, tired, exhausted, but happy to start our vacation. Our suite was clean and well air-conditioned. caution. The roads at night are not fully illuminated. However, enjoyed the island, people, and scenery.

Kohala Coast - Waikoloa Hotel Guide

For many, the idea of getting away to a tropical paradise like Hawaii is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Hawaii offers a number of gorgeous and relaxing places to visit, and one of the best places to stay is Waikoloa.

    Things to Do in Waikoloa

Waikoloa is located on the northwest shore of the big island in Hawaii, along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world. Hotels in Waikoloa provide guests access to black and white sand beaches, a tropical climate, relaxation, and adventure, which can be found within a short distance of virtually all Waikoloa hotels. If the water is where you want to be, vacations in Waikoloa offer easy access to the beach, boat tours, snorkeling, or diving. Waikoloa Beach is a well-known destination in its own right, and the Ku?uali?i and Kahapapa Fishponds, first built and maintained by ancient Hawaiian natives, are located just behind the beach in Anaeho?omalu bay. The bay also features the opportunity for snorkeling, windsurfing, and relaxing on the beach, which is also considered to be a pristine stretch of shoreline. Nearby are ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs and carvings, tying the entire area to its ancient roots and providing visitors with a fascinating view into Hawaii's past. Also nearby is an excellent opportunity to get close to nature at Dolphin Quest, where guests can actually swim with dolphins in protected lagoons. Waikoloa also boasts a number of outdoor activities like hiking and golfing. And if a more leisurely pace is what you're looking for, the resorts and shopping at Waikoloa are world-class.

    Explore Waikoloa

Travelocity lets you search over 400 airlines and more than 510,000 hotels worldwide, which includes Kailua-Kona flights, and find cheap hotels in Waikoloa. In fact, with our price guarantee, we will match any lower price and refund you the difference.
