Nice boutique hotel, clean, nice aesthetics, large and nicely furnished room (love the casement windows!). But I arrived on a Saturday evening when there are no staff present, and there was a problem: the remote control for the room’s heater was missing. (The heater can only be operated with the remote control.) There was an emergency number written at the front desk, but it said explicitly, “emergencies only.” I figured lack of heating wasn’t an emergency, not enough to bring someone in on their day off. It was January, but in Haifa it’s not freezing. But it was cold. Anyway the next morning the manager (?) at the front desk was very apologetic when I told her the problem. She said there was supposed to have been a remote on the nightstand; there definitely wasn’t. When I made the reservation I thought there’d be someone there on Saturday evening: the Travelocity description says, “Front desk (24 hours)”, “Front desk staff will greet guests on arrival”. I got a call that Saturday afternoon telling me the code to open the lobby door and where my key would be. (That part worked fine!) Other than that problem with the heating the hotel was great. I still recommend it! But my advice is to try if possible to be sure there will be hotel staff present or at least available when you arrive, at this or any hotel, in case there’s a problem. But I’m sure that most smaller hotels don’t have staff present all the time.
