    About this property

Aloha Charming Ocean Front Condo Molokai, Hawaii

If you are looking for the true ALOHA, then spend your vacation in my charming condo. It is equipped with all amenities, has been totally renovated and offers you the splendor of paradise. Start your morning by zipping your cup of coffee or other beverage on the lanai, be aware of the stillness surrounding you, watch tiny little fish jumping out of a total tranquil ocean where only birds leave their footprints on the beach in front of you, greet the island of Lanai across the channel, and the fishpond visible on your left. A new day with exciting activities has just begun for you...... The island of Molokai, also called “The Friendly Isle” is the most Hawaiian island and it is what Kauai used to be many years ago: tranquil and undisturbed in its natural beauty; My condo is about 1 mile drive to Kaunakakai, the nearest and only town on the East Side. There are two highways: one from north east to south east; another one from east to west. There is only ONE rental Car Company at the airport, some near Kaunakakai. It's recommended to make your rental car reservation as soon as possible to avoid being stranded without a car. Should that happen give me a call as I may be able to find you one. Molokai Shores is a spectacular beach resort in Molokai, Hawaii blending in perfectly with nature around it. My ocean front condo is located at the 2nd floor , fully remodeled after I first bought it with 1 bedroom, 1 bath, a kitchen and living room with a day bed, fully furnished with all amenities and a lanai that lets you take in the vast velvet of the ocean and the fabulous exquisite sunsets during the Fall months. Molokai Shores Resort offers a gated community pool right near the ocean, impeccable grounds with BBQ, picnic tables, tennis and kayaking . You have marvelous views to the island of Lanai which lies across the channel. Toward the left you’ll see the island of Maui. The resort offers housekeeping services, laundry facility and hair dresser; There are a few eateries, a hotel, two grocery stores, one gas station on the east and one at the west side, a local museum, a farmers market, fishponds and a paradise for the outdoors, pristine rainforests with waterfalls, finest sand beaches, hiking, no traffic lights (!!!). Eat at Kualapuu Cookhouse where baby back ribs with homemade guava-barbecue sauce are just a mere hint of the offerings, come for the Luau at the Molokai Hotel while watching the sunset. How to explore Molokai’s rich history and secrets, the very first Hula school; fishponds where fish were raised only for the Royalty- the Ali'i, unspoiled rainforests with some 900 m high seasonal water falls; Kalaupapa, the historical park and home of the few remaining former leper residents ; local tours for snorkeling, adventure, sightseeing, and where to indulge in the most gorgeous sunsets ... right from your condo. Once you book my condo most of these places are detailed in my Travel Guide Books which are mentioned in my WELCOME letter. If this is the first time you come to Molokai or even if you have visited before, below are some interesting places which you don’t want to miss:: Kaunakakai, Wedding and Honey moons, Royal Coconut Grove and Park, Historical Museum and Sugar mill, coffee plantation and Macadamia Nut Farm, Fishponds, Kalaupapa Natl Museum (former Leper colony), Father Damien's life, Maunaloa and the 'Big Wind Lite Factory, Halawa Valley on the south east coast, Hikes and water falls with "Kalani", visit his gorgeous flower and fruit farm in Halawa Valley…. Visit Molokai's finest beaches -- Papohaku, Kepuhi and Kawakiu, which are some of the very best sand beaches of Hawaii. Visit the Leper colony in Kalaupapa either on mule, by helicopter, or hiking, absorb the view of the majestic Na Pali, stop at the chapel dedicated to Father Damien, or take short flights to the other islands, sign up to organized trips for fishing and snorkeling, bicycling all over the island, explore the old fishponds where fish were raised only for the high Ali'i. And watch the most exquisite, breathtaking sunsets from the lanai during the fall months, observe wales as they migrate from Alaska from December to April. Don’t forget to stop by the Coffee Plantation and the Macadamia Nut Farm , indulge in chocolate shave ice – the best I like is from the gas station in Kaunakakai. The Whale Watching Season is just about around the corner. These graceful giants start migrating from Alaska from December to April to give birth to their babies. A phantastic fascinating event to experience these friendly marine giants in the waters off of Molokai's south coast (between Molokai, Lanai, & Maui) where an estimated 75% (10,000 - 12,000) of those whales can be found! You may watch them right from your lanai as they are moving, jumping out of the water, males singing to attract females, slapping the water's surface with their fins, tails, or heads. Or you may join a whale watching tour boat in the Kalohi Channel - Kaunakakai. We hope you enjoy these amazing giants! Molokai is a special place with so much history, adventure, tranquility and.... the fastest way to slow down.

      Dirty and dated

We loved our visit to Moloka’i. The people were very friendly. There truly isn’t much to do here but that was fine by us. The beaches were very empty so that was great. This condo has a beautiful view but that’s about all it has going for it. It needs a major update. The carpets are filthy and the bathroom has mold in the shower. There is plenty of cooking supplies which is a plus. The TV wouldn’t work and there really isn’t anyone to help solve problems. The office is only open till 8am-2pm M-F and the signage keeps saying these units are all individually owned. Our friends stayed in the unit below us and there were cockroaches and mouse poop in the drawers. Needless to say we did all the cooking in our unit. Obviously they know there’s a problem as there were mouse traps set in their unit without bait of course. When they called to report it they were given a $50 discount. Really, that was a slap in the face considering what the unit cost to rent. Unfortunately there aren’t many choices in Moloka’i. We were referred here by a friend but I would not refer someone here. If I could post pictures here I would but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

      4/5 Good

        Great location beautifully appointed condo.

We spent a week on Molokai. This condo is very well appointed and we did a lot of cooking while there. The gas stove worked well. There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes etc. previous tenants had left some staples that we were thankful for and we, in turn, did the same. Local grocery stores were well stocked. The outdoor grills are both gas (Weber) and charcoal The balcony has a superb view of the ocean and is covered so well protected during the numerous rain showers we had. . Travel to all parts of the island very easy from this centrally located condo. Be aware, it is difficult to get a flight into Kalaupapa. We tried every day and did not succeed. The trails were closed due to mudslides so it was the only way in. Sigrid was very efficient in handing our rental with quick responses to our questions. The staff at the condo office was very friendly on check in. All in all it was a great week!

        4/5 Good

Older, nice private condo; centrally located; Molokai is very relaxed...

Nice place, very much enjoyed the stay, except for some minor nits. No hand soap for bathroom or shower (normal for condo?), no extra paper towels for kitchen, no change machine in the common laundry downstairs, and similar things. Major irks are: 1. No air conditioning, and 2. The advertised, up front price is a lot less than actual due to cleaning and other fees, taxes, etc. I think this is standard practice for most of these places, but this one seemed extreme. Great location, but set your expectations accordingly; this is a private condo, not the Marriott. As for Molokai, it is a great place if you want to sit on a gorgeous beach and read your book, but there is not a lot going on otherwise. We definitely will be back when we want a very quiet, laid-back vacation. The mule ride down to the leper colony was fun, though quite expensive. BTW, this condo is for sale if you're interested in reasonably priced real estate in Hawaii...

          3/5

            Well equipped, but just dated.

Pros: getting in & out was super easy Had everything we needed Cons: NO heads up that the POOL would be unavailable the ENTIRE holiday weekend due to resurfacing- BIG bummer for the kids! Unit was dated- I was a little sketched out to sleep under the ceiling fans as low was very low(not circulating air), and high was like airplane propeller high...

            5/5 Excellent

Great condo in a great location.

This condo is a lovely, clean, and spacious unit. It is located in a very quiet community and is conveniently located about 5 minutes from the main town with the grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. I also like the location because if you want to go to either the east or west side of the island, you are centrally located to both. The unit itself was very clean and was bigger than I anticipated. It has an amazing oceanfront view from the balcony, where I watched the sunset and stars every night. You can walk right up to the beach, although it's not really a swimming beach. There is a laundry room on the premises (bring your own quarters). The unit was very hot when I arrived, but if you open all the windows and turn on all the fans, it will cool down, and I didn't feel that A/C was necessary. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone visiting Molokai. What you get for the price can't be beat.
