My husband and I just came back from staying a week here. The time flew by. We weren't ready to leave this place. Amazing hotel and staff. Everyone was courteous, went out of their way to help us, the valet guys knew us by name. It was one of the nicest we've stayed at. One of the reasons we booked it was the smaller size. However, if you want huge, more pools (there was one nice one) and more options this is not this place. The views were nice and access to the beach. It is very a quick walk to Poipu beach also. Red Salt was very delicious and other restaurants across the road and nearby. We would definitely stay again if we return.

"Expected more of a luxury experience -- especially with the price"
Went into the stay thinking the St. Regis would be a bit more high-end than it ended up being. I believe they've recently converted the hotel from a Westin and while the staff is great, I left feeling they were trying to be a St. Regis but still a Westin. And the food and drink is horribly over-priced.

"Wonderful resort!"
My wife arrived at the resort around 11:00 am which was a little early for check in. The girl at the front desk said our room wasn't quite ready yet since check in isn't until 3:00 pm. Then without us even saying anything she said she will give us a free upgrade to an ocean view room, because it was already ready. We were quite pleased with the upgrade and the new room. The resort was very nice, and due to my being military the resort fee ( which includes valet parking) was reduced by half. I had no idea of any military discounts she just asked if I was military and gave them to me. The location was very nice, central, and convenient! The grounds were in great shape, and beautiful. The pools and jacuzzis were very nice ( two of the pools actually get to six feet deep and the jacuzzis are actually hot)! There's a really nice breakfast restaurant with a great buffet, but the servers aren't attentive at all...wish they had juice machines out so I could get my own refills. My wife and I were hoping for a massage on this trip, but the spa was WAY overpriced more than double what we usually pay for a massage. I did find out most massages on Kauai were a lot higher priced than they are on Oahu where we live. Overall this is a really great resort and I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Kauai!

"Excellent location in Poipu area."
Originally requested a room with king bed, oceanfront, on a high floor. Arrived after midnight on first night. Received a voucher for a complimentary bottle of champagne since it was our anniversary. Didn't get the king room that was requested, however, the front desk said that they would be happy to move us the next day for our 7 night stay. They did and it was on the same floor. Breakfast was okay, good selection, reasonably priced for a resort. Had dinner at Rum Fire, view was excellent, service was okay, meal was pricey for what it was. Glass of iced tea was $4.50. If they describe themselves as gourmet then it should have been, it wasn’t anything impressive. They did recognize that it was our 10 year anniversary and presented us with a complimentary dessert. Pool was very nice. Plenty of chairs, drink and food service available. The service staff were all great. Cabanas and beach lounge chairs also available at a cost.

"Great vacation in Kauai"
Had been to Kauai several times, including 20 years ago when we were married in Lihue. Went back to celebrate our anniversary, and unlike our previous trips, decided not to stay in a condo. We like the east side of the island and this seemed like it would be a good choice - it was. No problems, great ocean view, nice pool, very nice staff.

"Nice old fashioned hawaiian hotel"
Great location with simple accommodations. It rained a lot so that affected the overall feeling of our stay. Also, it is hard to have a family in the condos because there aren't real doors to close to shut off the space. They are just sliding screens, so very little privacy and hard to stay quiet for baby to sleep.

"Beautiful hotel with large pool."
My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and we're very pleased with the location, beach and pool. The room was clean and comfortable. Only wish we had not been charged for parking and wifi. It also would have been nice if they provided a microwave in the room.
