We asked for a quiet room prior to staying and they put us above the bar on our arrival on Friday evening. It’s quite a party bar which is fun when you are downstairs but not so much fun when trying to sleep. There was also a bad smell in the toilet from the drains and the AC wasn’t working.
I went to complain and they said they had some problems in the hotel that day and this was the only room available so we had to stay there.
The following day coming back from sightseeing in the afternoon we were stopped by a lady from reception who said she had another room available if we wanted to move to a quiet room, but our new room wouldn’t be available for at least another hour but she needed our room back so could we pack up and occupy ourselves for an hour - we declined as it just wasn’t convenient for us.
We went up to our room, and we then couldn’t get in - the door lock had gone - they got maintenance out who said it would a 15 min job but it got to near 45 mins and i went to check and he said he would be some time as the complete mechanism had gone.
So I went back to Reception who managed to get me another room (they did give us a voucher for the bar whilst we waited).
So we ended in relocating to another room, where the AC didn’t work again!
In a comedy of errors we then had a knock at the door and a dessert was delivered to us compliments of the hotel - the note with it was welcoming another guest back to the hotel - clearly not meant for us!
