Good location, Crappy rooms

Posted Jan 2, 2018
Worst night sleep I have had in ages. The building smelled of chlorine which I guess is a plus, At least I can assume it was relatively clean. The beds were rock hard, and the sheets like sand paper. I have slept on floors that were more comfortable. Just terrible.

You get what you pay for

Posted Dec 4, 2017
It was a decent place, nothing was amazing but nothing was terrible. Only one elevator of two was working but it wasn't very busy so not am issue. Room was clean but some little things here and there for upkeep, old stains on carpets (room and hallways) scuffs on walls, paint chipping, little things that you wouldn't get at more expensive places but didn't hinder our stay. They did fold a dirty towel back up and place it on the clean towel rack in the bathroom once. Breakfast isn't complimentary and the staff does about the bare minimum (never answered the phone when we tried to call a few times one day) Pool was nice, clean, about half the area around the pool where you sit was not useable due to caution tape. Everything was about average.

They failed to honor my reservation thru Expedia.

Bad experience. They would not honor our reservation thru Expedia. They said Expedia never paid them on my behalf. Who lied?

Central location but a bit tired

Posted Oct 23, 2017 on Expedia
Pros: Good aircon, nice o be able to use the YMCA.
Cons: Everything needs a refresh, it was visually a bit depressing.
Location: Very handy to restaurants and theme parks.
I stayed here while attending a conference at OCCC in October 2017. Facilities are a bit dated but adequate, the air conditioning was cranked up which was nice. About 30 minute walk to the OCCC convention centre, the itrolley bus is really only useful if you can afford to wait around, however good range of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Best thing about the Allure is free access to the YMCA lap pool and gym. Great staff at the Y too.

Nothing wrong... but nothing quite right either

Posted Oct 23, 2017 on Expedia
Pros: Fairly good value for money
Location: Just opposite the coca-cola Eye, good location on International Drive
The hotel is a bit dated but the room are spacious and clean. The main problem is clearly that the hotel is short of staff. Some members of staff were smiley and very helpful, others were abrupt - to say the lease. Overall a decent experience but nothing to rave about.

Convenient location to Universal and aquarium.

Overall we had a nice stay at Allure. We had a small issue with our room and the hotel staff corrected it immediately. Our only complaint is the Cargo Bay restaurant that is on site.....it should be renamed buffet. There was no order menu and there is a server to control your portions of soupy eggs and slimy bacon. Otherwise great stay at Allure and we would stay again just wouldn’t eat there.

Hotel was overbooked.

Posted Oct 22, 2017 on Expedia
Arrived late and hotel was overbooked. Turning people away at the desk that had reservations paid for by third parties. Two staff at desk were slow and had no sense of urgency. Room rate was $170 and for that rate you expect courteous staff and a clean room. AC obviously had a problem because room smelled musty. Could never recommend.

Broken A/C Thermostat

Posted Oct 19, 2017 on Expedia
I called the front desk the first night I was there to let them know the thermostat needed new batteries or to be fixed because it was just set to absolutely freezing and constantly running.... 5 Days later when I checked out it was still not fixed! I also couldn’t believe the managers would schedule a HUGE forklift machine to be placed in the middle of the lobby, covering most of it, at 9pm. In Florida, this is a popular time for checkins. The fact your employee had to completely unplug a DESKTOP computer and move it to another location while the line to checkin moved with her should be appalling to you. Shame on you for doing that to your employees and not scheduling light bulb changes, or whatever was happening, for 2/3am when it would be relatively dead in the lobby. I go to Orlando once a month for work and will most certainly NOT be staying at Allure again.

Incompetent Staff

Posted Oct 19, 2017 on Expedia
Pros: Little. The rooms seemed freshly painted. That is about it.
Cons: Staff competence. Staff empathy. Overall staff attitude and manners.
Location: Location is great. Walk to restaurants. Central on I-Drive.
I booked through expedia. Front desk staff didn't properly check me in. When I checked out the told me they considered me a no show. They acted like I was lying when I said I stayed there. It was 630am. Am I really lying to you that I just spent the night at your hotel? Then....to top it off they charged me twice!!!! Now remember I booked at expedia, pre paid. So the staff member who screwed up my check in charged me for the room I already paid for. But then since they considered me a "no show" they charged me another amount for not showing up. The best part was that I had a picture from in the room, taken the night before. I had proof I stayed there. Hey, how many hotels have Sleep Number beds? After calling the "accountant" they told me they were not available and "dealing with a situation" I paid 3 times for their incompetence. For a room that had Sleep Number beds, ripped cushions on the chaise and bugs crawling on floor in bathroom If you are coming to other options on I Drive take the other option.
