The Altstadthotel Weises Kreuz is poorly run, worn out and unbearably noisy. During good weather, the deafening noise from the many nearby sidewalk cafe's & bars thunders into the hotel's rooms, not letting up until 1:00AM, after which a parade of singing, screaming drunks marches outside the hotel for another hour; until some quiet returns around 3:30 AM, but only for a short while, for city workers wash down the remains of the night's party around 5:30AM. It is not possible to get a quiet night of sleep at the Altstadthotel Weises Kreuz. The hotel staff is insensitive to the noise problem, no doubt having heard complaints from every guest. I suffered through this madness for 5 nights, believing that it can't be so noisy every night of the week. Sleeping in the noisy tourist packed Old Town is not necessary, book a quieter place, away from the street cafes and drunks. Get a good night's sleep somewhere else, and stroll into town from a more comfy hotel. Additionally, The Altstadt Hotel Weises Kreuz suffers from poor maintenance. The toilet in our room broke at 3:00AM. As it was "impossible" to find a plumber within the next 3 days, we had to perform a temporary fix each day. I should send the crooks at The Altstadt hotel Weises Kreuz a bill for the plumbing work I did each day. Don't book The Altstadthotel Weises Kreuz. The Hotel Weises Kreuz is noisy, worn out, and, by the way, serves a poor breakfast.

A fine hotel.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: small size room
This was a fine hotel with an excellent location. My only complaint is that the room was just too too small. I did have a single and I knew that ahead, but it was smaller than most singles. I did get a great window view, though.

Room just a bit small but hotel so unique!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Had a very comfortable stay but the room was tight for two people. It was so unique staying in a hotel almost 600 years old, where Mozart also stayed! It was a perfect location in old Innsbruck. Lots of restaurants very close by.

Wonderful, Small Gasthof

I have stayed in this establishment on several occasions over the years, and I find the location perfect, the rooms basic, but charming, and the people wonderful. It's not a 5-Star Hotel with massages and hot-tubs, but for a quiet, centrally located place with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Disappointing

To be fair, this is a reasonably good 2 1/2 star hotel. The rooms are small but efficient and very clean, furniture is typical Tyrolean. Their breakfast is very good. No air conditioning. Now the not so good. Arrival at the hotel is next to impossible. It is in Old Town and that means auto access is only from 6 to 10 AM. All other times you must come by taxi, or by foot (dragging your luggage). Staff was not helpful in informing us of this deficit or in helping us overcome the difficulties of it. The auto park is four blocks away. Historic hotel in reasonable condition with terrible customer access.
