Great all-inclusive option

Pros: Pool and daily activities, friendly staff, good food
Cons: Better communication from guest services staff, we tried to book a special occasion dinner before we got there and never heard back from them.
Location: Great location on hotel strip, walking distance from Aqua world with great snorkeling and water toy rentals, 20-30 min taxi ride from downtown.
Went with a group of 10 people, we had a great time! 5 restaurants at the hotel, poolside service, 24-hour room service, AMAZING pool, daily planned activities, nightly DJ or live music at the hotel bar, great location on the beach.

I didn't want to leave !!!

AMAZING is the only word to explain my experience at Sandos. I took my mother to Mexico for the first time for her 50th birthday and we never been this excited about any other trip before. I usually don't write reviews but I was left with no choice and I would most certainly recommend this hotel to a friend.

Nice All inclusive

Pros: Staff is always willing to try to help make the stay better
Cons: Upkeep. Walls need new paint and a few places have stains on the walls a celings. Also her are some staff that need to improve thier english.
Location: There is a lot to do but the bus's leave a little to be desired as in most sities.
Our stay was nice, I just did not like the whole idea that they try to sell you on becoming a member and all this extra stuff is Excluded since you are not one. It is always heald over your head that somehting is only available to members.

I just back from Cancun. this is my first time staying at sandos resort in Cancun. the hotel is luxury, nice and clean. .The beach is gorgeous. and the swimming pool is huge there is three of them with great view from the pool you can see the ocean. The food at the restaurant is delicious.Three of the restaurant the food is pretty good. staff is friendly. excellent service. Thanks to the manager Alex that help me with the tour issue with the other hotel. I got refund back. and I recomend this hotel to every one that they should choose this hotel you can't go wrong. I have a nice time here

Nice hotel & Staff

Pros: The staff were very very friendly, helpful, and polite.
Cons: The air condition was not always on downstairs and it was extremely humid hot outside and inside and the food is not very good.
Overall, I had a great time at this hotel. The staff are very polite and helpful. There was never anything that I needed or asked for that they did not attend to. My only complaints is that they should keep the air on inside the hotel at all times. For some reasons they would turn the air off in the hallways, lobby, and the main bar room where they had live performances. It was extremely hot and sticky and It didn't help that it was already hot and humid outside. Also, the food isn't very great accept the steak restaurant and pizza and fish burger at the snack bar outside. The drinks were not always fantastic either unless you ordered simple wine or beer. Nothing is very authentic. I also wouldn't recommend anyone purchase packages through the travel agents that setup on the resort. Although they say that they are with expedia, it was clear that they only contract to use expedias name, but they deliver their own deals and prices and scheme. They are also not very professional.

Overall good, but disappointing...

The hotel was overall good, but will definitely stay somewhere else next time. Service: Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Hotel & Room: The AC was not working properly in most of the common areas / restaurants. The room option we booked was supposed to have either two queen beds or a king size, but we ended up getting two very small beds (way too small for two people). This was mentioned to the staff a few times and nothing was done. There was mildew in shower. The room windows were extremely dirty (the only way to appreciate the view was by having them open) Food: The food was kind of disappointing, mostly at their Italian and Teppanyaki Restaurants. The service at St. Trop (the pool restaurant/bar) is excellent, the servers go above and beyond. Food at the buffet was usually cold. Activities: Non-motorized water activities included are not in the actual hotel, they are about a 10-20 minute walk on the beach. Same thing for the motorized ones if you decide to get them. Beach: High waves and seaweed on the beach made it impossible to enjoy.

Awesome hotel and staff

Pros: Staff service was first-class and efficient and most are bilingual. we love the façade of the mediterranean-style building with mayan hieroglyphs.
Cons: The sea can be cleaned more of seagrass but waves might be too strong for the cleaners. Could use a No smoking policy in the pool itself.
Location: It is in the the middle betl airport to end of the hotel zone. It's only about a five minute walk to the bus station or main road not good if too hot
Simply amazing all inclusive hotel - beautiful grounds, façade, pool area (there are three big ones!), room, and most commendable is the first class hotel staff service. Forget about nearby Ritz, come here instead! The Zango resto (main dining) staff and hostesses were especially very attentive and anticipated all our wants and needs. All the rest of the staff were commendable as well from the frontdesk, bellboys, pool attendants, St Trop servers and bartenders and housekeeping. We loved the music played in the gym, at the restos and those played by the DJ (house, dance, latin mix, lounge, bossa) but wished the music extended until nightfall as it made things livelier. Minor renos can update the look of the room like the faucets but it did not take away the beauty of the room. We were upgraded to a suite, of course, thanks to Expedia! However be warned that some business staff will pester you into a presentation of other hotel offers. We always had activities outside and running late so were were able to 'escape'. The first guy approached us and insisted on speaking with us as soon as we checked in, which we found to be inconsiderate as we were exhausted and famished from our international trip. Other than that it was a very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable experience! We will miss this hotel.

Great time

Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The restaurant options were great and we enjoyed the spa, pools, and other amenities.
Cons: Alerting guest in the welcome letter about dress codes for the various restaurants. We were surprised to see that men could not wear tank tops.
Location: Within walking distance to the shopping center (well if willing to walk 1.5 miles) and easy access to bus service. Pharmacy and laundry mat close by.
We had a wonderful first time experience at Sandos hotel from being greeted with a rose and champagne, enjoying some time in the spa and a wonderful couples massage, to enjoying daily activities and kayaking fun. The food was delicious and 24 hour room service was very convenient and awesome. Staff were always punctual in bringing our food especially on days when we were going on early morning tours. All inclusive service was great.

I would rate the hotel accordingly; 1- cleanliness = Excellent 2-staff= Excellent 3-facility & amenities =Excellent 4-FOOD= not good! No variety of good food.
