The perfect getaway!

Pros: Perfect Location! Beautiful grounds! Spectacular view!
Cons: maybe a snack bar or poolside bar
Location: Everything you need is nearby, Grocery store, coffee shop,restaurants, fish market, farmers market and the ABC store
This trip was our 1st yr wedding anniversary/Honeymoon. It was absolutely the perfect spot, Stayed in a room with an ocean view ground level. Very romantic. Sunset view and the sound of the waves. Grounds were perfectly manicured and beautiful. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to local restaurants,farmers market,coffee shops and the grocery store. Beach walkway was a bonus to our favorite beach to snorkel.. So nice that we are thinking of making this place our anniversary tradition!! Mahalo...

construction zone

Rooms where dirty, one they tried to put us in smelled like smoke, the oven wouldn't open because of the cabinets the cabinets wouldn't stay closed. then they put us in a room we woke up the next day and there was two back hoes and a dump truck along with a jack hammer. expedia and aston said they knew nothing about it. our vacation was ruined and neither company helped. stay somewhere else!

Bad room

I have stayed at the Papakea before and loved it! This time was disappointing. I was traveling with my son and his family which included a 10 month old. We needed a room for half a day waiting for the red eye home. The room was dated, no tv in the bedroom, dirty and the air conditioner barely worked. Top it all off the charged a $91 housekeeping fee and a $17 resort fee!

Aston at papakea

We had a wonderful stay here! It's in a great location and the staff is very friendly. Our favorite dinner spot was grilling right by the pool every night while watching the sunset over the beach. I'd definitely go here again! Only downside, if you want housekeeping it's an extra charge every day you request it, but they make sure you are aware of the pricing and have pamphlets with that info in the rooms.

nice area, old condo

Pro – go to Expedia presentation the first day – NO hard sell, just lots of good information about the island. Clean pools, well maintained grounds, easy walk to food, groceries and activities. Beautiful views of the ocean. We got there at noon and they let us change our clothes and park so we could grab lunch while waiting for our room. Con – old, worn out condo. About a half cup of rice with some red powder in kitchen drawer. Had to call maintenance twice to get air conditioner to run. Washing machine agitator broke, ended up rinsing clothes in sink. 2 sofa cushions were torn and needed repair. Spent 15 minutes trying to print boarding pass only to be told by staff that they can’t print Alaska Air – not sure why this wasn’t noted on the PC so I didn’t waste my time.

I stayed in ocean front view but not easy to access to beach, too bad

Perfect place to stay.

Aston at Papakea is ideal because it's close to the beach and practical. There are wonderful lanais, good air conditioning, a nicely set up kitchen and the grounds are fantastic. This was our second stay at this resort and we will come back a third time.
