Very nice hotel

Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms, East Side Mario's restaurant was great !
Location: Historical, Scenic St. Johns Newfoundland. Check out Signal Hill, The harbor, The fresh local seafood. The people are as friendly as can be.
All staff were very nice and helpful, especially understanding of our incoming flight delays. The management held our reservation for 2 days since our incoming flights were cancelled.

Ice machines had sand in the ice, and vending machine down by the pool didnt work.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy your stay at the hotel. Although the pool area was very clean, we found the standards of our room to be horrible. The sink and tub plugs were broken, our toilet was leaking water, didn’t seem like the table was cleaned very well, found breathing hard during the night ( especially our children ). People were very loud and you could hear them easily ( we have no trouble at the other hotel we normally stay in). They were undergoing renovations ( which is fine ) but some notice ahead of time would have been good. At this point and time we feel like we wasted our money and we can not recommend staying there.

Find another hotel - not worth the money.

Cons: poor service, too hot
Room was very hot, despite the 'air conditioner' running 24 hrs/day. Hotel staff was not helpful in directing us to local attractions and restaurants. Housekeeping knocked on the door early in the morning to clean the room, when I brought this fact up to the front desk I was told that he "didn't know why housekeeping knocked so early". No apologies, no indication that this would be looked into. Avoid this hotel. Our return trip to St. John's we booked with another hotel.
