Great location, hip decor
Pros:Great bedding, free wifi, modern decor, friendly staff.
Cons:Noise between floors.
Location:Korea Town. Could easily eat out at every meal for months and not hit all the restaurants.
We stayed at the Shelter in the heart of Korea Town for 5 nights on vacation. We had a great experience. Most important to us, besides the basics like a clean room were a comfortable bed and quality bedding, because after all, isn't that the main thing you are there for? To sleep? The bed was truly excellent, including some of the best hotel pillows I've had in literally years. The decor of the room and hotel in general is modern, clean and hip. Bathroom has a DEEP tub. I wish I had brought bath salts. Would have made for a great soak. Second up in terms of priority is free wifi. Hotels that nickle and dime you on the wifi make me crazy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Having a parking garage was fantastic. Yes, they charge for it. But there is basically NO free parking anywhere in L.A., so that ustd comes with the territory. Cons: a bit noisy. We could hear the person above us through the floor. And no free breakfast - though they do have coffee, tea and assorted danish in the morning downstairs. But honestly, I've had enough bad hotel free breakfasts to last me a lifetime. MANY great coffee shops within walking distance. We loved the hotel and it was perfect for our needs as we explored the surrounding area. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great clean, well staffed hotel in nice area.
Pros:It was clean, the staff was helpfull and friendly and my room was spacious.
Cons:Providing breakfast in the morning. More tv channels available.
Location:There are different restaurants, places to get a legit massage, things like that.
I picked this hotel for a couple days mainly because of a concert I was attending at the Palladium, but was also planning on going to a restaurant close bye. The latter didn't work out but the hotel choice was a good one. Clean, well staffed with friendly and helpful people, and at least for me my room was pretty spacious.
The only downsides I can think is that it is kind of out of the way of Restaurants or other things in the area you may want to do without catching a cab (I don't drive), few tv channels available if that's an issue for you, and there is no breakfast available.
But being out of the way also means it's quiet, without running into alot of homeless or seeing them on the street when opening a window. Shelter is worth the price and stay.

As far as breakfast you are correct in we do not offer breakfast. We put out doughnuts but I am currently and have in the past offered fruit. Just a little something to satisfy the hunger you may feel in the morning.

Looks can be deceiving
The outside had me scared tbh but the staff and clean interior and modern feel totally make up for it. Would recommend to others. Also very easy to get around town from this hotel.

Nice hotel.. Great location
Pros:Location was centrally located between Hollywood and Downtown. All staff were friendly. Hotel was clean at all times.
Cons:If possible, maybe a fast elevator. That's a small thing, but if anything, the elevator.
Location:Located in Koreatown. Nice neighborhood and not seemingly ghetto or unsafe. Tons of food and shopping within 10 minutes.
We arrived early and were not able to immediately check-in so the staff offered to hold our luggage while we went out for breakfast. Room service was fast and all of the cleaning ladies were friendly and nice. Hotel was clean and we did not have any issue with loud neighbors. All and all, great trip.

Was very clean and quiet.
Pros:It was very clean and quiet.
Cons:Just more information from the front desk.
Location:I don't know what there was to do nearby, we just went to the dodger game.
I enjoyed my experience, just if the front desk would have offered more information. As far as, the free wifi, or any other information like the pool, sitting areas or anything else that was offered. They were nice though. I don't think that you should have to pay for parking, since you are staying at their hotel.

Great value in Mid-Wilshire/Koreatown LA area.
This hotel is clean and modern. The staff is friendly. There is free parking which is a precious commodity in LA but the parking lot is small. That being said, I've never lacked parking while staying there. It is also convenient to the Metro (LA subway). My go to hotel when I'm in LA.
