I absolutely loved our stay at the Portland Harbor Hotel. The hotel has a beautiful nautical design theme that translates into the rooms. We stayed there for one night and we were able to check in very early and use the gym twice. The hotel is so close to all the major shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone visiting the area!

How this hotel got a 4 Star rating is beyond me! The "main door" has signs for the Bistro, but nothing to tell you to walk in and take the elevator up to the lobby. When I pointed this out at check in, the clerk told me that it said "Portland Harbor Hotel" on the awning above the entrance door. I pointed out that a pedestrian would only see that from across the road and not one sign directed us to take the elevator to the lobby. His reply was "I'm not responsible for the signs." At that point he remarked that he'd assigned us "the wrong room" and changed it to a room with a view of the A/C outlets on the flat roof by our window. We will never know if he changed it because I pointed out the inadequate signage. There is only one elevator to take every guest in the hotel (103 rooms in total) to their room. On day 3, there was no ice on any of the floors. When I went to the lobby and informed them, they said "I'll let housekeeping know. Do you need Ice?" No apology at all. On another day, we left the hotel at around 8:00 am and got back from our day out at around 3:00 pm and our room had still not been cleaned. We stayed for 7 nights and our sheets were not changed at all! I know this because a blueberry fell on my sheet on day 2 and left a tiny blue stain. It was still there on the day we left! The shower floor looked like it hadn't had a good clean since it was installed!
