"Nice hotel close to ocean and airport."
Started off bad as toilet handle in room fell off BUT they quickly switched us to a room that was fine for our 2 night stay. It had a King size bed and was quiet. The room had AC. Shower worked well. Note that this hotel is on the flight path for the airport but there really are NOT that many flights. The hotel is connected to the Coconut Grill rest. where we had breakfast 2 days which was good and not expensive. Overall I think this was a good choice. We had dinner 2 nights out in Hilo in the downtown area.

"Good hotel in great location."
Hotel is small, but clean with all the basic things you need. Has large rooms with breakfast. Ofers laundry a small pool/jacuzzi and a gym. Breakfast was had good options, pool/jacuzzi were great every time we went back to the hotel to relax. The gym not so much is very small and doesn't have ventilation therefore it stinks and could it stand it so I left without working out. The hotel has extra fees, one of them is parking which I though it was pricy. Other than that it was a good stay!

"Great Kona resort"
We stayed for 7 nights and wished we had 7 more. Great staff, security, luaa, location and room. Easy walking to food. Easy travel to historic sites. Tours avsilable, but we chose to do our own thing. The lagoon was never crowded and the one night we used the pool, we were the only folks there. Our request for maintenance support was met in minutes. Seems that in fixing the clogged drain in the room above us, they backed up our pipes. By the time we returned, our room was clean and working well. My one complaint is the confusing parking lot. Our car was hit by a couple from Germany as they tried to get assistance to operate the gates and navigate the one way roads. Got to meet hotel security and local police, but it took hours to process. (Renting a car? Get the insurance- Hawaii is a no fault State.) Loved out Lagoon tower room where we had a partial ocean, resort view. We could watch the luaa each night from our balcony. Lots of restaurants nearby and pedestrians on the main strip. Felt safe.

"Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel (Pagoda 2)"
The staff at Uncle Billy's were awesome. The hotel itself is rundown and needs renovation. Our room was ok. The carpet has got to go. If the carpet throughout was to be replaced, It would make a world of difference. The linen however was very clean. The 90's picture tube tv is still going strong. It was overall since stay however.
