The Marriot Hotel was well located. It was near the beaches and near shopping.

Pros: Close restaurants, close to beach
Cons: No free Internet, free beach chairs and umbrellas too far from water
The Marriot Hotel was well located. It was near the beaches and near shopping. The ocean view room was perfect. You will be disappointed if you don't get an ocean view. The restaurant prices were too high. The in-room bar charged me eight American dollars for a 16 oz. bottled water. I still highly recommend this hotel ... just don't buy the food. I initially considered booking with the Sheraton in Rio. I'm glad I didn't. It is situated far from the beaches despite what they advertise.

Very nice accommodations, very nice location, food is pricey and subpar

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
The hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly and rooms are very nice. The rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, plenty of space for clothes and to stretch your legs. The view of Copacobana beach can't be beat. The breakfast Buffett is more than adequate with an omlet station, pancakes, meets and fruit. The location is very nice and safe you can walk around the beach and to the bus stop without any difficulty. My only word of caution, the food for dinner is very pricey and not the bst food I town (as the staff might have you believe). We would definitely stay here again.
