Breakfast buffet was very limited and of poor quality. The desk in our room was too small to work at. Bathroom had no counter space to put personal toiletries. Staff were attentive and polite. Enjoyed the tavern.

Hotel checkin ends at 9pm. No staff available after 9. We got delayed on our drive from Boston- horrible traffics because of road construction & torrential downpours / tornado warnings New eta was 9:15pm Receptionist did she checked with manager and they could not help us out- we’d lose out room/ Monday I called Mgr and got voicemail so called to book another hotel (had to pull pdf highway to do so which further delayed us) Mage called after o booked other hotel to say they could stay an extra 15 minutes but it was too late

The property is a very unique 1800’s statehouse/inn/restaurant etc etc. If I am not mistaken the old post office was once located there complete with the original front desk and behind it is the original mail slots (that are now used for room keys — how ‘bout that for re-purposing?!) ...Seriously the Inn is located in a charming college town, is quaint, full of wonderful history and within easy walking distance of beautiful downtown Granville. ...Each VERY unique room is anointed with basic necessities if needed. And the front desk is manned 24/7. The bedding is comfortable, and nighttime slumber was quiet. If you like real American history at its earliest, try the Buxton. You will not be disappointed.

Very cool old inn. I have stayed here many times and will again. It's directly across from the Granville Inn and about $100 less per night. Rooms are in houses around the original structure and they have a very cool basement bar. The antique bed in the last room was a little short, other than that everything was great.
