My daughter and I were in Gastonia 2 days and 1 night to see my sister who is in a senior care facility. We booked an extra night at the Best Western Gastonia so we could check in early. We went to our room, I got in the shower and the bathroom was flooded in 2 minutes from a bad shower head. They gave us another room on the 2nd floor. The entire floor smelled like cigarette smoke. My daughter took a shower and in a couple minutes was standing in half a foot of water. Her bed looked like a 400 lb person had slept in it. We got back from the rehab at 7:30pm. It was dark. A large man dressed like a woman, mumbling and sweating profusely, came up to our car in the parking lot. We stayed in the car until he wandered off..then we ran to the side door and ran to our room. I was exhausted and fell asleep, but woke to my daughter talking to the desk clerk on the phone. She was reporting sounds from the hall and another room...people screaming and a child running up and down the hall screaming. My daughter was very upset. The desk clerk said to take it up with the morning desk clerk and hung up on her. We were shocked. I got several bug bites during the nite and was hoping it wasn't bed bugs!! The next morning my daughter spoke with the morning desk clerk who said she would have the owner call us the next day when he came in. He didn't call. I called three times and was never able to speak to him but he instructed the desk clerk to credit me $40 for each night. Again shocked!

I changed rooms twice and the last room the shower curtain did not close. I did not nave to good experience.

This was horrible and I would never stay at any best western again. Our first room as soon as we turned the lights on roaches scurried across the bed next room there was stuff smeared on the shower wall this place is gross
