Escape from the cold girls trip!

My mom and I stayed at the Atlantic for a few days to get some fun in the sun before I start my new job. It was a lovely trip filled with great accommodations, happy hours, beach walks, a spa day and dining out. We got to relax, catch up and feel pampered. I loved the room balcony, powerful shower and scent of the bath products. It was hard to leave!

Make sure you check your bill! I was charged for TWO separate charges that I did not incur. THEN I was charged 8.50 for a bottle of water I did not drink! There are NO ICE MACHINES! In order to get ice, you have to call 0 to have it delivered 30 minutes later, only to be handed a plastic bag of melted dripping ice. There is no store or shop on site to purchase drinks/snacks. Your only option is to deal with the valet clowns who can't get their act together. It takes them FOREVER to take your car for you and even LONGER for them to bring it up when you call for it. The lobby REEKS of a nasty floral scent. My advise would be to enter with a clothespin on your nostrils. The smell gave me an instant migraine. The room size is nice but you could not PAY ME to stay here again. If you like being charged for things you did not consume, and do not want any conveniences of being away, then DO NOT STAY HERE. I am thankful I was only in town for one night on business. This is not the place to stay for a vacation! Just be warned!

My fault

Most of hotel under construction. Staff I felt gave up on caring about making most of it. I think it will be very nice when done, but again, staff needs redone as well. It's the service business. At least fake it you care?! We aren't there to inconvenience you. Really!

Beautiful Hotel With A Great View

Stayed in the oceanfront 1 bedroom king bed suite. The room was absolutely beautiful with a lot of space. The shower is absolutely amazing. It had two shower heads. The tub was separate with spa jets. Plenty of closet space. It had two sliding doors with a huge balcony. The only problem I had was with room service. I wanted to surprise my other half with a slice of carrot cake for their birthday so I called for room service. While waiting we took a shower & watched a whole movie & it still never arrived. I called back to room service & she informed me that she told me it would take about 30 to 45 minutes for it to arrive, which by that time it had already passed. She put me on hold & checked on it. She then got back on the phone & told me it was headed out of the kitchen. After the call is waited another 35 minutes before I had to put on a robe & go downstairs to get it myself, which ruined the surprise I had planned. So I wasn't to happy about that but the rest of my stay was perfect.

Not as nice as I expected.

Cons: Better overall service and management.
We arrived one hour after the check-in and the room was not ready. Were given drink vouchers, but this is the cheapest comp a hotel can give you. Another 30 minutes later and the room was finally ready. Unacceptable for such a highly rated hotel. The next morning at breakfast we arrived when they opened and 10 minutes later someone finally waits on our table. Pretty poor service. Overall not impressed.

very nice

Pros: had an ocean front room with a beautiful view
Cons: not a fan of parking fees, but valets were great
Location: catfish deweys was my favorite restaurant, great food casual atmosphere
Went down for a few days to see jeff Gordon's last ride. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The room was roomy and had a balcony where we sat each morning and drank our coffee and took in the view of the ocean.

It Could Have Been Perfect

Pros: This is a great hotel. Great location. Great staff (except maybe the bartender). Car valets are as prompt and friendly as can be. Get ocean front!
Cons: Internet and cell phone service if a Verizon customer very poor to impossible this time. Talked to staff and other carriers have issues also.
Location: Located on a quieter section. Can walk to the "more action" bar/restaurant area. Life guard stand right out front of hotel.
Stayed at this hotel before. Stayed in Ocean Front Suite last time. Stayed in Ocean Front Standard this time. Both rooms very similar in design/furnishings/materials (bathrooms very similar as I remember them). Obviously suite has more room, a much larger balcony and a real kitchen. Families should consider the Suite. Staff is superb, friendly and quick to act on requests. Gave us an upper floor room (not ready on our arrival) when the room ready for us at check in was on a lower floor (I had requested an upper floor room at booking). Also gave us complimentary drink tickets in their bar while we waited. Drinks were from their house specialty selection. Tried three different ones-two were undrinkable, one mediocre at best. So- worth what we paid for them! Since the second time staying here in a year's time I looked more closely than before as to upkeep/little details about the property. Noticed some minor maintenance issues but this is being very, very picky.
