Terrific Mini Vacation

Pros: Close to airport and on the beach. Great for a quick getaway. No car was needed.
Cons: It would have been nice if they had a place in the lobby to purchase misc. sundries and a newspaper.
Location: The location was in the central beach part and was perfect for loungng at the beach. The local restaurants were delicious as well as the hotel Bistro
My spouse and I stayed at the Sonesta for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff were very accomodating. The hotel was across from the beach and offered beach chairs and umbrellas for a fee. The pool area was comfortable with a pool bar. The rooms were large and comfortable. We had a great time and will return for a longer visit.

Stay at Sonesta

Nice hotel close to the beach but beware of hidden fees. They charge an additional $20 per day and $35 per day for car parking so depending on how many days you stay so you may want to include these additional charges and then see if it is worth the price to stay in this hotel. I expected at least the parking should be free for guests staying in the hotel.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS VIEWS

Pros: We were not pleased with a restaurant they recommended, told an employee to pass it on to the manager and he actually followed up and contacted us
Cons: One day we had been at the beach and we were full of sand and took shower. Housekeeper was in room right after we showered but did not rinse sand
Location: For the view, the location was perfect!! For dining, could have been more centrally located. I expected there to be more shopping around
We had floor to ceiling windows with the most gorgeous views of the ocean. Located on an easy to access corner. Bathroom was a nice size and bed was comfortable. Valet attendants helpful and nice and very quick when car requested. The pool was perfect size, water temp was great and great bar service at the pool. When we first arrived we asked manager for a restaurant recommendation. We had horrible service at the restaurant and when we returned to the hotel we asked another employee to pass it on to the manager. They actually passed it on, the manager called us the next day and said that he contacted the restaurant manager with our complaints and his displeasure and the restaurant manager sent us a bottle of wine as an apology. Very pleased with the follow through!!...Any bad comments I made were just little things, did not make a difference in our stay, we loved the hotel and the view and the location

Quick get away in Ft.Lauderdale

Pros: Price & hotel staff and amenities
Booked this trip through travelocity.... Hotel was awesome...staff upgraded us to a King Bed.... we had a double queen room booked.. we were supposed to travel with another couple. A death in their family prevented them from coming. Thx to the staff for taking care of us!! Did not eat a t the restaurant. They have little things going on everyday.... Wine tasting, food sampling, yoga etc.... We did have the wine & cheese that they had...Excellent! My husband used the workout room... he said it was sufficient and clean!! The pool was very small... but nice, and clean. FYI > They only have 3 cabanas that are available....!!!!!! Get out early to reserve one!! It wasn't very crowded when we went so it was no problem getting one...with that Florida sun...you'll need it! Or...... U can rent chairs for free on the beach (with your room card)... right across the street. If you want chairs with an umbrella...it's $20 for all day! All of that is supplied by the Hotel. The beach is beautiful...and water was crystal clear...! Again...we went when it was hardly crowded..... If it's packed ...u may have a problem at the pool. FYI.....There is really not much to do directly around the hotel. the Plan Burrito...is awesome...right outside the pool and around the corner. Also the The Parrot Bar.... is a good watering spot....!! Walk over the bridge and pick up a water taxi and cruise the intercostal !! Great views of stuff you'd probably never see.

not so obvious costs

Cons: display parking costs on your website Travelocity. c'mon.
Location: across the street from the ocean. Location is great.
The stay was fine except for the overly priced parking...of which you have to do because it's all metered parking around there. So on top of your hotel stay it's at least 20$ to park which if you're already looking on a site like Travelocity for cheaper rates, this is the kind of information that I wish I had when booking. I would not have booked here. I would have gone up the street 1-2 miles, saved money on the hotel and would have avoided parking costs. Also, Sonesta's hotel fees seemed pricier than others. It's unlikely that I'll stay here again because of the parking and hotel fees.

Nice hotel - beach across the street!

Pros: The staff is great - very attentive.
Cons: The small pool and the pool area are NOT impressive at all but we didn't use the pool since the beach was right across the street :)
Location: There's a few restaurants within walking distance. The 24 hour pizzeria around the corner came in handy when we were hungry late at night.
The location of this hotel is great - right across the street from the beach. We spent most of our time at the beach. We had an deluxe king room with an ocean view - awesome view! The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries provided were great. There's an ample amount of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - this came in handy b/c I traveled with only a carry-on (couldn't pack much toiletries!). There's a blow dryer, iron, mini fridge, and a small safe in the room. We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but the few items we ordered via room service were good (wings, burger, calamari, shrimp). You don't really need a car in this area.

Not what I expected!

Pros: Location
Cons: To begin they could include breakfast on the hotel's room rate by default. check in should be earlier than 4pm and check out by at least noon not 11am
Location: Location was good, walking distance to all the bars ocean front on that street. S3 is good for margaritas and mojitos.:)
I guess it was somewhat disappointing because of the staff, CHECK IN time is awfully late 4pm so I arrived at around noon and the first lady I talked to told me room wasn't ready to come back later, she pre-checked me in and took my card and swiped it, I still don't know for what because I was asked for my card again when I arrived later on that day to do the same thing I had done earlier. well, finally checked in and went to the room, it was nice, but I wanted to upgrade to get a room with a tub and full ocean front view (i had only partial but that is not the hotel's fault but the ladies at travelocity who I made the reservation with) and I called reception who told me was busy at the time (which is understandable) but they said they would call me back on that but they never did, so I stayed at the room I was given. Then, breakfast wasn't included (for the price I was paying I thought it would be) so anyways we decided to try their restaurant and breakfast wasn't its best, it was awful, I couldn't even finish it. I would have been better off going to Ihop! Pool is kinda small and it doesn't have a view. Valet parking guys were cool.
