Beautiful resort for Ft. Lauderdale visit

Pros: Very spacious with a lot to offer. Beautiful pool area. Nice bar/snack area near pool. Great location - close to cruise port.
Cons: Pelican Landing female bartender needs some training on how to treat customers.
The staff was excellent upon arrival and the rooms, although dated, are very clean and comfortable. The amenities available are fantastic - to be enjoyed by absolutely everyone. The pools & hot tub are wonderful and the activities available to keep you busy are endless! From croquet to corn hole, volleyball, etc. They even have foosball & ping pong tables to enjoy outdoors! Nobody can get bored at this place! Nice to be on the water too! The only disappointment was a rude bartender at the Pelican Landing. We read that this place had a great happy hour, only to find 1 minute after 6:00 PM that it ended at 6:00. (The info. on line for this waterfront establishment indicated that it was to open @ 5:00 PM. A one-hour happy hour???) We then waited at the bar for her to serve our drinks while several others who arrived after us were served....... Very rude and disappointing. :-(

Rooms are dated and a bit old, room service was not the best either, actually a bit rude. They knocked on the door and started walking in as soon as I openned without asking if it was okay to come in. Very noisy hall ways when anyone rolls by the stone floor with luggage or a cart. I would say for the discounted deal I got it was alright but if I had paid full price I would NOT have been satisfied.

Beautiful resort with acceptable rooms

Pros: There was plenty for the kids to do and the staff was very pleasant
Cons: The repairs that have been made in our room (2119) were shoddy and poorly done; it really out to be done properly for the nightly price
We ended up here after the hotel that we had previously booked ended up being uninhabitable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds and public areas are amazing with a large interior courtyard set up with lawn games, a giant chess set, connect four boards and more - the kids loved it! The beds were very comfortable - even the rollaway bed that our 11 year old used. The room did have a few issues - the sink was cracked, several broken tiles had clearly been glued back on, the towel bar in the bathroom was bent, the toilet rocked when you sat down and got back up, the soap dish in the shower was damaged, the finish around the mirror on the back of the door was chipped so all in all, the room didn't present as well as the common areas but it was mostly clean, it was comfortable, and we did feel safe.

Worn out and tited

The room was old, worn out and tired feeling. I didn't realize I wasn't booking a room in the main tower. I prefer the main tower area

Great location!

Beautiful setting and tower! Pool is Las Vegas lavish and the location is near cruise port, airport, water taxi, and beach. Pier 66 is full of beautiful yachts.

Pros: The restaurant staff. Loretta and Angelito gave very good service.
Cons: Rooms were older and we did not like the outdoor entrances. Not convenient to get to rooms and lobby.
The service and food was excellent. We ate in the Lounge for dinner. We had breakfast in the Mariner restaurant.

Outdated hotel

This hotel is outdated. We had flooding in our room due to heavy rain. Our a/c was also making a terrible noise. It is not representative of the Hyatt brand name. We did get 50% discount due to the inconvenience but still I would not recommend the hotel.

After checking in and searching for our room neither key worked so one of us had to stay with our bags while the other went to get the cards fixed. Luckily a maintenance man came by and let me in and my daughter arrived shortly after. Then we were in a handicapped floor room instead of higher up overlooking the marina like I had booked. There was a patio outside that would have been nice to sit on except the wind was blowing so much you could not. We went to one of the restaurants nearby where the service started out well but then went downhill. We spent a good deal of time waiting for the next part of our meal and almost never got our check so we could leave.

First of all

Pros: The wait staff at The Lounge, Pelican Landing and Morning breakfast cafe.
Cons: Check in hospitality. Cleanliness of rooms.
Location: The beach and harbor area are so beautiful.
The food and staff at The Lounge and Pelican Landing was absolutely great. The morning cafe was excellent. Now that was the extent of it. Bathroom not painted, very dirty shower and floor area, the wooden curtain shades did not slide, no coffee pot, no ice bucket, the chair in the bedroom area was very wet, the check in service person was so rude and just wanted to rush us off. Sorry but I thought in my many years of traveling that the Hyatt stood for service and cleaniness, guess I was so wrong. Disappointed. May never chose another Hyatt.
