Room was very fun! Though the floor was very sloopy and the shower was tiny. We had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to come check us in and give us a key though and there was no one around in the morning when we checked out.

The property was old and unkempt. Windows didn't close properly with many spiders making webs outside the windows. The room had a terrible odor. Restaurant in the house was so badly run down I didn't want to eat there, which I didn't. I had two nights booked but left after one. The absolute worst property I ever booked. Undoubtedly not worth close to what was charged for the room. This property was so bad, I will think twice before booking through Travelocity again. Words don't do it justice. I believe someone from Travelocity should try and stay at this property.

I love that it’s not a traditional hotel. Rustic and beautiful. Do with it was a little cleaner. Fan fixtures in bedroom really dirty and look a little unstable so we couldn’t turn them on.

Wonderful food. Excellent service. Beautiful views of the lake. Pleasant environment. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located nearby attractions, restaurants and more. Owners were very kind and gracious. Breakfast offered was delicious and staff took care of every need. Would return for another stay!

Paid but had to leave, did not spend the night.

Question working smoke alarms. Awful odor mix between burned bacon-musty, smoky. When upstairs bathroom flushed toilet, water level rose and bubbled in our toilet. Did not feel safe here. We left and drove 3 hours at 11 pm.

Fire trap, dump, uninhabitable

Pros: Nothing - nope, not a thing. Don't bother staying at this place.
Cons: Bring in the state inspectors and turn them loose.
Location: We were simply passing through.
Our arrival at 10:00 p.m. was met with....nobody at the desk, in the lobby, we had to search someone out. We found a grumpy old man who walked past us - but I stopped him by asking if he worked here. He took a while to find our reservation. Then, told us our room was at the top of the stairs, the key should be in the door. He left. The first thing I noticed was an underlying odor - took a while to identify it. I believe it was a leaking vent pipe in the sewer system. On our way to the room I noticed 8 quart cans of Minwax brand polyurethane on a ledge next to a red panel that looked like an electrical box of some kind. Yep, right out there. Our room was like an oven. The window AC was so noisy we ended up opening windows and sleeping on top of the covers. The bathroom was filthy - a crust of some kind around the base of the stool, no aerator on faucet so water went everywhere. Thick layer of dust in the corners - cleaning was obviously just a lick and a promise. We talked about just leaving, but we were very tired and the hour so late. At 1:07 a.m. two men sat in the lounge area outside our room and commenced chatting loudly - for nearly an hour. It just wouldn't end. At 4:03 a.m. an alarm went off - for about 30 seconds. Then, nothing. We were up and scrambling thinking it was a fire alarm. We tried to re-settle, but finally got up, dressed and left. I couldn't find anyone in the lobby area - nor a call button, to discuss a refund.

Wow! We work very hard to make our guests happy. In general, most folks don't go to bed before 9:30 so I am surprised that you objected to the music, etc. Maybe a chain motel next time? Thanks for staying with us.

Beautiful Views

Pros: The bar and the lake front.
Cons: The obvious water damaged walls in the bathroom. The bathroom itself.
We stayed here over night because we went to a concert at Ommegang Brewery. I thought it would be closer to the brewery. We took a cab to the show and back to the hotel. The staff were very friendly. We had beers in the restaurant but no food. The food did smell great and there seemed to be a lot of locals coming in for dinner when we left. Our room was small, so was the bed. A/C is provided via window unit that was working overtime, it was pretty muggy. The shower was in need of some attention, bring your own towels! The ones they provided were really old and questionable as to their cleanliness. The next morning, Sunday, when we went to check out no one was available to do so. We just left. The bill was prepaid so it wasn't an issue. All in all it is a decent place to stay and has a nice waterfront on the lake you can walk down too and enjoy watching the world go by. There are also kayak rentals right next door.

Lake was all lit up along the shore.

Pros: The fireplace is a big hit and we ate dinner next to it.
Cons: More parking down by the shoreline.
Location: this is a very romantic hotel and away from Cooperstown enough so it was not crowded.
Brew and Lodging package was the attraction, the hotel was the hit. This package was amazing. We had a great time at the brewery and came home to the Lake House and sat by the fireplace the rest of the evening. We had wonderful steak dinners and they served us right by the fire. Staff are always eager to help in whatever your needs might be. The lake was all lit up by the hotel for the guests. We will back soon.
