Very nice staff. We very much enjoyed our stay.. the only reason for 4 stars would be the room had a mildew smell.. the room was clean and exactly what we expected it just had a slight smell. The entire staff was friendly and helpful

During my stay at Handlery, my privacy was invaded by one of the housekeepers who entered my hotel room without permission. The housekeeper did not even knock before barging into the room. It was 9 am in the morning and check out is not until 11 am. I was changing my undergarments when she entered the room and I felt like my privacy had been violated. I immediately informed front desk about my unpleasant experience and the receptionist informed me that other clients had already made the same complaint. Yet I was only offered 1 extra hour past check out which does not compensate for the violation of my right to privacy. I paid $300 to have a room in which I could rest and feel safe yet my privacy was violated. Front desk suggested I put a do not disturb sign on my door however there was not one provided in the room. Regardless of absence of a do not disturb sign, that does not constitute a right for the house keeper or any staff member to barge into a client’s room unannounced, unsolicited, and without the client’s permission. It is not my responsibility to ensure that my privacy is respected, it is that of the housekeeper and hotel staff to respect the privacy of those staying at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, clean and spacious rooms. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is walking distance to so many different restaurants and fine shopping. We normally stay at another hotel on union square and this if the first time staying here, we will definitely be back!

Really nice hotel, we weren't expecting it due to the low price. A few food options in close proximity. Clean, quiet, comfortable, up-to-date. We will definitely be back in the future.
