Construction woes
The check-in went smoothly and the young man at the desk was very helpful. We wanted to order room service but found out the restaurant was closed on Sunday evenings. The check out time is 11 a.m. . We stay up late and we're rudely awakened by jackhammering the floors in the Next Room at 8 a.m. . We had not intended to get up early as we had an appointment at noon and had lots of time. When I spoke to the GM at the front desk she said they had no idea what rooms were going to be done that day and the construction crew start it early. The hotel was wide open with rooms that night and we could have been put somewhere where there was no construction planned. The overall role of the hotel staff is to provide good service to those staying there. They shouldn't determine what time we get up in the morning forget the GM said she didn't know which rooms were going to be worked on each week. I found this a very lame excuse as it was her job to know and coordinate V6 with maintenance. When your main client is your hotel Patron oh, you ought to know your hotels business and plans and work around those clients, not the other way around. Overall the hotel was lovely but being assigned a room next to one that was going to be under construction the next morning was unacceptable. I was offered a $10 card for my next stay plus extra points but I wasn't interested in any restitution. I had just wanted a good night sleep. Isn't that what you expect when you go to hotel
