Exploring New York
If you arrive in New York during the summer months, you won't be alone, as that's the time of year when most tourists visit the state, especially New York City. During these months you can experience spectacles such as the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks in Brooklyn. If you want to get "all shook up," head to the Lake George Elvis Festival in June.
If you visit earlier in the year, you can check out the Ellicottville Winter Blues Festival in January or East Meredith's Ice Harvest Festival in February. Of course, many are looking for flights to New York City, and there, you'll have a seemingly never-ending selection of activities. If you're what they call a "foodie," look for hotels in New York City that are near East Village and Williamsburg, both of which are top neighborhoods for dining in The Big Apple.
If you're not so interested in food, try showing up in April for the Tribeca Film Festival or in August for the New York International Fringe Festival. If you're more focused on cheap flights to New York, though, plan on arriving between December and March. The snow keeps people away, but you can still enjoy year-round destinations like the Rockefeller Center, Niagara Falls, the Buffalo Zoo, and "The Egg" in Albany.
When you're ready to visit The Empire State, book your flight and find hotels in New York via Travelocity. If you use the Travelocity app, you can get mobile exclusive deals that will keep money in your pocket to enjoy your trip.
