    Hawaii Hotel Travel Guide

Spend your next holiday vacation in “The Islands of Aloha” with a trek across the Pacific Ocean to the Hawaiian archipelago. Snorkeling. Surfing. Hiking. Hula. Pig roasts. Luaus. Mai tais. That list is just a taste of what this magical land has in store for you. Reserve a cheap flight and hotel in Hawaii today, and set off for paradise tomorrow.

    Where to Go for Fun

Start your Hawaiian journey on Maui. Leave your bags in the hotel and then stretch your legs during a guided hike through Haleakala National Park. You can climb to the summit of the ancient volcano and take in the best uninterrupted, panoramic views. Come back down to sea level—or below—and embark on a snorkeling expedition to Molokini, a partially submerged volcano. See if you can spot and then pronounce the state fish of Hawaii: Humuhumunukunukuapua’a.

Want to visit Don Ho’s old stomping grounds? Head east from Maui to Oahu and relax at a Hawaiian resort in the beachfront community of Waikiki. You can learn to surf in the friendly waters of Canoes, but if you want some juice with your waves, head 31 miles north across the island to the North Shore. Witness and feel the raw power of the ocean at spots like Pipeline, Waimea Bay, and Sunset Beach. If traditional Hawaiian culture is what you’re looking for, you’re in luck, as the North Shore is home to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Admire the exhibits and watch “Ha: Breath of Life,” a multicultural evening show with traditional songs and dances from Polynesia. Steer clear of those fire-eating dancers, though; don’t you want your eyebrows?

    "Excellent hotel!"
My husband and I decided to splurge a bit on our first trip to Hawaii, and chose the Halekulani. It turned out to be an excellent choice!! The location was perfect in every way, and although we booked a courtyard view room, we not only had a beautiful courtyard view, but also a perfect ocean view as well. From the spacious balcony of our room, we were able to easily view the ocean, and even had the nice surprise of fireworks when we returned to our room from dinner our last night there. The service at the Halekulani is unsurpassed, and I looked forward to our little gifts left for us each night. When we arrived at our room the first day, we had chocolates and fruit waiting for us. Later that afternoon we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne. I highly recommend the Halekulani, even though the cost is considerable higher than many of the other hotels.

    "Everything at your fingertips "
Our stay at the Aulani was extraordinary. From the staff to the facility to the amenities you couldn't ask for more. We were in a standard room with 4 adults and had plenty of room. We were only on the second floor and the view from our room faced the lazy river. Very tropical looking and not noisy. Loved the adult pool but I wish there was an adult lounge for late night since we had no small children with us. That's probably my only criticism.

"Still nice, but a step down from previous stays"
This is the fourth time we have stayed here since 2009 (2013 was the last time) and although it was very nice, it was far below previous experiences. Our room with a king bed and pull out sofa was perfect for two adults and a child, but the common facilities did not live up to our expectations. Several parts were under renovation, including Sonz, which used to be the breakfast restaurant. The new breakfast area was much more crowded and breakfast was not as good (no omelette station.) The whole place felt much more crowded, almost no seats at the pool if you come in the afternoon, very very few seats with any shade at all. Practically anywhere I tried to sit was next to a construction site, including the main open area next to lobbby, side area overlooking garden. Not sure if it has anything to do with the new timeshare, which was not there the last time we visited, but it seemed like there were about 30% more people than was appropriate for the facilities.

"On the oceanfront and next door to shopping "
Stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with our experience. Staff was courteous and helpful. Concierge set us up for a great Luau off site even though there is one on site. I think speaks volumes on how they treat their customers. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was good and had good water pressure. Location of the Westin is great. Steps away from the ocean and right next door to Whalers Village where my wife could shop to her hearts delight. A short 5 minute drive to Front street in Lahaina and 10 minutes to Kapalua. If you have a car rental and you drive to Lahaina or somewhere else and come back to a full self parking lot, they valet your car for free.

    "Much more than we expected"
This is a beautiful Sheraton resort right on Poipu Beach. All the beach toys were available to rent (SUPs, surf and boogie boards) and the beach and water were wonderful. There was a great hike close by - starting at Shipwreck Beach - that lead to a secluded pristine beach and beyond. The restaurant on site - RumFire - was very good and we also found several other great restaurants within a 1/2 mile. Great sunsets around the fire pit. Kauai is an incredible island and if we go back we would definitely stay here again.
