What a charming motel! The proprietor Janet personally showed us around when we checked in. Room was spacious, well-appointed and spotless. Nice to have the indoor mineral springs pool in case of rough weather, but the outdoor pool at night with the surrounding swaying palm trees was heavenly. Will absolutely stay there again!

Staff were very friendly. Facilities are clean and appear to be kept up well. I will certainly keep Lido Palms in mind for future stays.

Located in a sketchy neighborhood among homes. Not a hotel. Booked through Travelocity because this property was indicated when I searched for “pet” friendly hotels will traveling cross-country. Booked and paid $260 for room to secure. Drove two hours out of our way to get to “hotel (house)” only to be told they do not allow pets. I indicated I had a pet on the reservation when booked. “We don’t allow pets or kids nor smoking!” I told her, I don’t smoke, no kids and my pet is six pounds. I asked if she would refund my full payment. She told me no and that Travelocity would have to do that. I reiterated that her place came up as pet friendly and I indicated I had a pet. We had been driving for two days and it was late afternoon on a Friday in Southern California heat and traffic.... No sympathy. Defensive and rude IMO. I would not recommend this place or Travelocity.

The arrangement of the room and the pool and hot tubs was extremely nice. The bed was fabulous. The water pressure was the best I had ever felt. The other amenities in the room left much to be desired. The AC never cooled the room to a comfortable level. It was so hot we had to go to a local Walmart and purchase fans. The kitchenette was so hot that that area of the room was unbearably hot. You could look up through stove vent in the ceiling and see daylight and feel the furnace like air rolling into the room. The ultimate disturbance was the requirement to turn the volume up on the TV to hear it with the fans going. The night manager came knocking on the door and as I attempted to jump out of bed and answer it she opened the door. I was lucky to have put the chain on or she and I would have been really shocked as I was not dressed to answer the door. Why she couldn't call the room (oh that's right no land line in the room) well they had my cell phone on file, didn't call it either. It was very unsettling to have someone try to barge into your room to tell you that the walls have bad insulation and the room next to us was complaining. As quaint the Motel is I cannot in good faith recommend staying here.

Perfect place to just RELAX!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great pool & jacuzzis, 45 minutes to joshua tree national park, close to palm springs, full kitchens, close parking with no irritating "parking" fee, clean & well maintained, attractive desert landscaping around pools etc.
Lido Palms is the only place that my wife & I will stay in Desert Hot Springs. We bring along a nice flower boquet and some extra special foods and make good use of the full kitchen. The place is just our style: small, quiet, relaxing. Great pool and jacuzzis, nice staff, excellent housekeeper. We have been coming here for many, many years and have enjoyed every visit.
