Enjoyed it all, but check in was somewhat inconvenient. We arrived an hour early and checked in, then sat with bubbly (thank you) in lobby as we waited to be texted for our keys to 2 rooms. When texted to pick up keys, the receptionist was annoyed that I went directly to the desk to pick up the keys to only 1 room. She told me I should get in line when I got text for keys to 2nd room. Really? After having stood in line before checking in? It was almost 1.5 hours later before we had the keys to both rooms and the line was ridiculous. Checking in shouldn't be this inconvenient.

I do apologize if the impression you received from our colleague was one of annoyance but am sure this was not their intention and that they were simply trying to manage the expectations of our other guests at the time. Unfortunately we cannot always control the arrival times of our guests and when we receive large volumes in a short space of time then the impact on the operation does become more noticeable and for this I apologize. We do very much hope to be able to welcome you back in the near future to allow us the opportunity to restore your faith in our arrival experience. Yes I went for the cheapest room that was offered - a Queen with comp'd bottle of wine and free parking. However, I am not sure how often this particular Queen bed has been used but the mattress and pillows sucked. I am convinced the mattress dates back to when the Sonoma Inn was an actual mission back in the day. My husband and fell into the center and tossed and turned the entire night. He was so miserable the next day (his birthday) that he almost canceled golf - which was the predominant point of our stay.
