I checked in near midnight on Friday, March 1st. I left my room on Saturday and returned late that night, to find my bed unmade and wet towels exactly where I’d left them for housekeeping. I notified the night clerk who apologized, made a note and said it wouldn’t happen again. I mentioned it at the desk as I left for the day on Sunday. The clerk made note and again assured me it wouldn't happen again. I got back late Sunday night to find my room again untouched by housekeeping. I spoke with the night clerk who again apologized and gave me fresh towels and shampoo. She suggested I speak with Tina (day manager) on Monday morning. I spoke with Tina prior to checking out. I voiced my complaints in a civil manner without raising my voice or using off-color language. I told her I would be giving this hotel a bad review and she told me she considered my comments as being "threatening"! I find it amazing that a manager in a national hotel chain would consider my valid complaints as "threatening". I think she may be in the wrong job if that's the way she handles each complaint. I contacted Travelocity and after hearing how bad the housekeeping was for my brief three-night stay at La Quinta Inns & Suites by Wyndham in Deerfield Beach, FL - the best that Travelocity could do was a $50 credit (NOT A REFUND). I’m 78 years old and never travel (this trip was for a funeral). So, I’ll end up with ZERO compensation. Awful experience!
