I checked in near midnight on Friday, March 1st. I left my room on Saturday and returned late that night, to find my bed unmade and wet towels exactly where I’d left them for housekeeping. I notified the night clerk who apologized, made a note and said it wouldn’t happen again. I mentioned it at the desk as I left for the day on Sunday. The clerk made note and again assured me it wouldn't happen again. I got back late Sunday night to find my room again untouched by housekeeping. I spoke with the night clerk who again apologized and gave me fresh towels and shampoo. She suggested I speak with Tina (day manager) on Monday morning. I spoke with Tina prior to checking out. I voiced my complaints in a civil manner without raising my voice or using off-color language. I told her I would be giving this hotel a bad review and she told me she considered my comments as being "threatening"! I find it amazing that a manager in a national hotel chain would consider my valid complaints as "threatening". I think she may be in the wrong job if that's the way she handles each complaint. I contacted Travelocity and after hearing how bad the housekeeping was for my brief three-night stay at La Quinta Inns & Suites by Wyndham in Deerfield Beach, FL - the best that Travelocity could do was a $50 credit (NOT A REFUND). I’m 78 years old and never travel (this trip was for a funeral). So, I’ll end up with ZERO compensation. Awful experience!

Absolutely DISGUSTING!! This was hands-down the filthiest hotel experience that we have ever had. I’ve stayed in some amazing places & I I’ve stayed in some not great places. This was definitely our worst stay. As you can see from my photos, the room was absolutely disgusting. There were cigarette burns all over the floor, stains on the carpet, it looked as though they just swept everything on the bathroom floor behind the door, because there was hair & all kinds of debris behind the door. The window tracks were filthy, the cabinet around the refrigerator was rotted and moldy. The room smelled like a mix of cigarette smoke & mold, even though it was a non-smoking room. We were going to refuse the room and find a different place to stay, but there was a tornado warning when we checked in. We didn’t feel it was safe to be out searching for another hotel so we stayed. We slept in our clothes on top of the bed & didn’t get beneath the sheets. We didn’t even shower the next morning. There was a hair in the shower and I was afraid I would end up dirtier than I started. Their breakfast is only from 6 to 9 AM. You go to the front counter & they hand you a bag with your food in it. My wife got down there at 9:04 & they turned her away w/ no food. Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else! The only good thing about this place was that there were plenty of shopping and dining opportunities close by. We’ll be back again in 2 weeks, but will absolutely not stay at this hotel ever again.

Dirty Room and Nasty Management
I checked in at 9:09pm, it was a little busy that night. The front desk clerk was nice and professional. She gave me room 303, I went up stairs to check the room out and omg! The sofa was dirty with stains all over, the carpet was nasty, the tile on the bathroom wall was dirty. I took pics and went back downstairs to see if I could get another room, but the hotel was full. The clerk told me that I couldn’t get a refund until the manager came in the morning. I call the next morning and the manager told that I could not get a refund because I was in the room for than 30 minutes. I explained to her that I told pics, called my wife on the phone to tell her the condition of the room, and came downstairs to try and get another room. But, it took me to took long to make up my mind and check out in a timely manner according to the manager she declined my refund.
