The view was absolutely gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful. But the Dismal rooms the cobwebs the mold the unkept pool area it just needs a lot of lot of a lot a lot a lot a lot the tender and care. Not a good vacation for Mom who hasn't had a vacation in ten years without her kids.

They advertise as having Wi-Fi available to their guests. However, unless you are inside their main building you do not have a signal and you're so far away from town that your cell signal is very spotty. AC in the room would not blow out cold air. I called the front desk and she informed me that she would contact maintenance and have them come down. No one showed up the 4 days we were there. Other guests also complained about this. The bathtub/shower had mold. I did take pictures to show. I realize we're out in the woods and it's a rustic lodge but they make the pictures online look a lot better than it is in person. It's a nice place to stay if you don't mind spiders and giant spiderwebs. They're on every light at night. Our room had a great view of the lake, which was very nice. It did have a nice porch to sit on. But the room does not have a refrigerator or microwave. 2 levels but no elevator; just stairs down to your room so plan your luggage accordingly. The restaurant isn't bad but don't go by the menu online because it's wrong. We had gone to breakfast in hopes of trying their omelets but were told by the waitress that we "haven't offered that in almost a year". She said she'd make a note to tell them to take it down. So, we were disappointed. But the breakfast wasn't bad, just pricy. Do your homework. They don't tell you anything about the fitness center, pool, game room or anything else they offer unless you ask about it.

The pictures looked great but the room was dingy. A wall of wood that was dirty. The room was dusty and dark. The ceiling had cobwebs. The shower had a spider in it. We had to turn the heat to 78 degrees to keep warm even under the covers , we heard hammering and people running outside and slamming doors thoughout the night but worst of all, my husband is currently at urgent care to see about a bite he received while staying there.

Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding! Kudos to the senior chef and all the staff that prepared the meal, plus the housekeeping staff! A job very well done. And in spite of the overwhelmingly overbookking, causing a 2 to 4 wait even to those of us who drove for 4 hours and reserved 2 rooms for a family of four adults 2 nights. Shouldn't lodge guests be given preference?

The quietness and the pool were splendid. The resort could be improved with some updates. Maybe another eating place on the property would be good. The dock grill would have been very hot when we visited.

Renovations + Closures

The following facilities are closed seasonally each year. They will be closed from December 22 to December 28:
