Property Manager, Zac, couldn't have been more accomodating or helpful to us, for which we were very grateful. He helped us out of a predicament related to an EV car rental we had out of Portland. Thank you, Zac! Unfortunately, property is rather run down and sits on a major road through the town. Still, glad we had the room at Dawson, just 40 miles and an easy ride to Crater Lake

The former manager had let the property go. The new manager was there only one week, and it takes time to fix all the old issues. So I can’t fault the current management. But the property is old and feels like it. For example, we blew a fuse by turning on the light. The microwave was bad, but they did replace it. The walls are thin, so we could hear traffic and people talking outside, etc. The internet never did connect and we couldn’t get the TV to work either. However, we knew the place was old when we booked our room. That’s on us. Still, I’m glad we were there only one night.

I'm sorry for the problems that you experienced during your stay. I had just taken over the week before and was still sorting out problems. I can do nothing about the traffic as this was built in 1929 and Highway 97 was not as wide as it is now and was not even paved so these days there is a lot of traffic on 97. Our upstairs rooms are not as noisy but if I remember right you desired a downstairs room because of no elevator. Also at the point of your stay our internet was not working as I generally tried to warn guests when they checked in but may have neglected telling you. It is up and running fine now I'm sorry it was not fixed at the time of your stay, it was back the following week.

Our room and bathroom were clean but bathroom was bad. Old brown cracked caulk around shower. Very small stall shower. In great need of renovations

We just purchased and are planning a big reno project. I felt it was important to keep all the reservations during the busy season as there would be no place for everyone to go if I cancelled to renovate. The hotel is quaint, clean and well managed for your safety and comfort. I do wish everyone that leaves a review would also take into consideration that there is absolutely no place to stay nearby and most guests would have to sleep in their cars during summer. Easy to compare to a $390 per night hotel, but then again, we are not charging even half that for a standard clean room with new bedding and pillows.

This place is unique and charming. the room was lovely and with a door to a hallway and a door to the outside, made it easy to come and go without going thru the lobby. The bed very comfortable. even though the inn was on the highway we didn't hear much noise

Dawson House Lodge is a quaint little road side stop. I have stayed before and if I'm back down that way, I will stay again.

Were glad we got to stay in Dawson House. A great, unique, historical location. Everything one could want and more. Very nice and helpful staff. Fantastic hot water, too. Even if you could find a cheaper place, pay a bit more to stay at Dawson and make you trip an adventure to remember. Plus, directly across the street is Pilot that has great coffee (decaf, too) and everything one needs for travel. You will like your stay . . . David & Christine, Long Beach, CA

CUTE ECONOMICAL LODGE WITH GREAT KITCHENETTE.

Pros: ECONOMICAL, CONVENIENT TO NORTH RIM OF CRATER LAKE, QUAINT SMALL TOWN SETTING
Cons: UPDATE CARPETING, NEED SINK IN THE BATHROOM
Location: 30 MINUTES FROM NORTH RIM OF CRATER LAKE AND SEVERAL TRAILS NEAR DIAMOND LAKE
GREAT PLACE FOR AN ECONOMICAL FAMILY VISIT. NICE KITCHENETTE. COMFY BEDS, A/C AND CONVENIENT PARKING. EASY ACCESS TO THE NORTH RIM OF CRATER LAKE, WHICH WAS THE PURPOSE OF OUR VISIT. GOOD WI FI.
