I understand this is an old building that will need repairs, but having construction workers constantlu outside my room, the hallways and elevator being a mess from construction, and hearing construction noises clearly from our room was less than enjoyable. We were initially checked into a room with no heat. Thankfully, staff moved us to a lower level room with working heart. The following day, we decided we would have to leave one day early as a winter strom was coming across the Colorado Rockies. The Hotel and Expedia were slow to communicate, initially Expedia had told me to expect a refund and the hotel staff told me they would work with their manager for a refund if Expedia couldn't help. 2 days after leaving, i received a message from Expedia saying the hotel refused to give any sort of refund.

It wasn't until we arrived at the hotel that we knew that the hotel was being renovated. It was a shock because the facility was so shabby from the inside shown in the picture. It is said to be sleeping in the middle of the construction site. It felt like I had been cheated

Please disclose when a remodel is taking place
I booked this trip as a Birthday present for my wife. We specifically chose this hotel for the ambiance. When we arrived, we found out the hotel is going through a remodel. Everything is covered up and there is butcher paper on the hardwood floors to protect them from the remodel dust. Also being woken up to the sound of screw guns isn't the most relaxing. I have no doubt that once the remodel is complete that it will look great; I just wish it would have been disclosed, especially since it was more to stay there versus other historical hotels in the area.
