Best hotel in Chemainus, BC

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Victoria and Vancouver from Seattle. Chemainus is a small city, but still has few activities for tourists, but is an excellent location and we will stay here if visiting again. Victoria is about 1 hr drive, but there are several cities close which has lots of activities for kids and adults (indoor water park, parks, murals, water activities, ferries, golf etc). Hotel is in excellent condition, recently renovated (looks like a hotel built in 2013) and kept very clean. Staff is very helpful with supplies, check-in and keeping guests happy with cookies etc. We asked for a room with microwave and were assigned a room with kitchenette (two burner stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink and basic dishes), which was perfect for our family. They also have a hose outside the hotel to wash the car etc (never seen that at any hotel before). The pool is a salt water pool and the water was at the right temperature for kids. Breakfast was good, but can get boring for longer stays as its repetitive. FYI: (not cons). 1. Tub is a deep, so a bit difficult to climb into (for smaller kids). 2. Supplies (soap, shampoo etc) was not replaced daily, but front desk gladly provided. 3. Pool is not completed renovated, but still very clean and in excellent condition. The showers etc are bit dated. 4. This is hotel has few residents who are very nice folks. We met few residents during breakfast. 5. Pet friendly hotel, so expect to see dogs. We saw about 4-6 dogs who were well behaved. 6. Can borrow a DVD and a small selection of movies. Bring DVDs from home if traveling with kids. 7. Lots of TV channels. Wish there was a guide to navigate the programs. 8. There is a grocery shop across the street (Carlos) which is good for basic supplies like milk etc. Closed on Sundays, but open 9am to 11pm.

Good hotel.

Pros: Free breakfast, Quiet
We wanted a hotel that was close to central VAncouver Island and close to a golf course. This hotel accomplished both and it was clean and comfortable.

The staff is awesome

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
A new modern hotel with great staff. The rooms are large, clean, and extremely well laid out. Great location and very easy to get to. The amenities are excellent. Large bright breakfast area with a good selection of food items. Will be back
