worst hotel I ever stayed in

the window in the room was blacked out..i ask about why and was told because it overlooked the neighbors yard. the toilet had to be flushed twice. the blanket on the bed was all worn, which I took of the bed and slept only under a sheet. the carpeting in the room had stains and I work socks to move around the room. lite on the desk was not working. had a early flight and the breakfast room had no eggs. I asked and was told the truck never delivered the shuttle van passenger seat was torn and the foam rubber filling was on the seat and all over the floor board. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER BEST WESTERN. I also asked the front desk if there were any cookies and was told the tour bus group took all of them and they did not have any back-up for the rest of the guests AGAIN I WILL SAY, NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVEN THINK OF STAYING AT A BEST WESTERN

2nd visit but likely last

2nd trip to the area. Stayed here 4-5 years ago in their standard room so decided to upgrade to suite with sitting area and fridge. Beds were double not queen. Sitting area was useless. The lamp wasn't plugged in because there was no plug in wall near it. Kitchen area had no plates, cutlery, etc. light switch to kitchen was wedged behind the fridge and when I finally managed to flip it on there was no light in the area to turn on. Kitchen window had a crack that ran the whole length of the window so not sure how safe it was. Couch and chair were very out dated and worn. There was black grime behind/beside the toilet and tub. You could tell where the housekeeping staff skipped over cleaning. The front desk staff at check in were helpful but unorganized and not everyone wore a uniform. Some were dressed in track pants, etc. gave an in professional appearance. Checkout person was quick, attentive and helpful. GM said good morning but didn't ask about our stay at all. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special but didn't stay there looking for a feast. The pool was over chlorinated and the towel rack had 2 towels. One I wasn't sure if it was clean or not but considering pool wasn't busy you would think there would be a few towels. Overall appearance of the building was outdated and looked like it needs some up keep. They did have a wet paint sign out but nothing looked like it was painted. Likely our last stay here. Would rate it as 2 stars max

everything was in disarray

Pros: Location close to airport.
Cons: See above
Got in at nearly midnight. Systems down so could not register for nearly 30 minutes. First room had no curtains with glaring streetlight right outside window. Second room had noise from refrig. Finally got a decent room on third try.

Close hotel for IX Center

May be the worst hotel/motel - EVER!

Pros: The king size beds were comfortable, with 4 fluffy pillows. Also, proximity to the airport.Free parking although that did not make the stay worthwhile
Cons: Everything needs to be improved - the furniture needs to be replaced, rooms and especially carpets need updating, new elevator, clean stairwells. UGH
Location: Rock and Roll Hall museum is not far (fabulous). Also, downtown Cleveland area, boat rides, sports arenas and stadiums. Great restaurants in city.
When I called to confirm our stay on the morning of our arrival I was told that the elevator was not working and would be out for a month. Within our group we had one pregnant person & one older person with a painful knee so I asked for a room on the first floor. They were all taken so we were given rooms on the second floor. To reach these rooms, we had to go outside, around the building and into a stairwell that was filthy (bugs, never even swept!) and clearly not for the use of visitors. Amenities were sparse - limited number of towels and raggedy at that (even when requested at the desk), no shower caps or conditioner and there was a window that could not open and that had a translucent panel where the glass should have been so we could not see outside at all. One day no one cleaned our room with no explanation. Although the staff were pleasant this was not a place where ANYONE should stay. It took away from the enjoyment of our trip in general and we dreaded going back each night. If we had not paid in advance (non-refundable)we would have left immediately.

Nice hotel close to everything we wanted.

Hotel was excellent staff was wonderful. I wish they had a better breakfast but maybe one day they will. My family had preferred best western for over 30 years. They have not disappointed us yet.

Past its prime

Pros: The night staff was very helpful.
Cons: They should eliminate the smell of smoke in the third floor hallways. It's really bad!
Location: The location is handy to the airport.
The entire third floor smells horribly of smoke even though some non-smoking rooms are located there. It's not too bad in those non-smoking rooms though. The building is old and weird, with strange features like long narrow bathrooms and an entrance in what seems to be the back of the building with no convenient place to park while checking in. The complementary breakfast is fair. The night staff was very good. The day staff less so and I never got a call back from the manager as promised to resolve a dismal first night's stay.

We felt very comfortable here

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
We observed the front desk staff going out of their way to help another guest with no car find a nearby and accessible place to eat breakfast. That kind of attitude reinforced our generally positive impressions of this hotel.
