Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago

401 N Wabash Ave, Chicago - Map
"Definitely a 5 Star Experience!"
The service, cleanliness, quality of the food, accommodations, location, view, all combine to make a stay here a 5-star experience. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and a small chocolate mouse cake, topped with fresh berries and a "Happy Birthday" banner in chocolate, was brought up to our room as a special surprise. We were handed hot towels scented with lavender when we arrived; they are presented on a slate, footed plate embellished by a fresh orchid. Our room had a Nespresso coffee machine with three different capsule choices. The toiletries all had the same signature scent; I think it was lilacs. I will note, however, having stayed at this hotel before when it was not a Travelocity purchase, all the same amenities are not offered to a discount purchaser and you do not receive points toward your Trump membership. Items we did not receive this time that we did before were pillow selection, and appetizers brought up to our room. (I think we may have even been give glasses of champagne with these.) Also, we received a coupon for one or two free drinks in the hotel bar on our earlier visit. However, no complaints because we paid less, and felt we definitely got value for our purchase.

"Our room was right next to The Magnificent Mile"
All the hotel staff was great although the maid did not leave a notepad and pen in our room the entire stay. The bathroom was too small. The room itself was great with a double closet!

Sheryl at the Concierge was very accommodating.. Saw us taking pictures of The Drake and your historic hotel, offered to show us the Ballroom.. thanks for the photo opportunity. Upon arrival, bellman was busy assisting other guests, however, 3 other gentleman just stood and didn't offer assistance... Noise from A/C a bit loud.. Otherwise, room was very clean....

"Great location, beautiful room...will be here again"
My GF and I got to the hotel at 11AM, well before the 3PM check-in. They not only allowed us to check in 4 hours early, but waived the early check-in fee too! They also will hold onto your bags the day of your travel so you don't have to lug them around if check in/out time is too early/late. I asked that roses be in the room before check in as a surprise to the GF and they were, even with the early check in. Very accomodating & friendly staff. Room was cozy (read small) but very clean and welcoming. Room service was thorough and toiletries were full every day. Bathroom is large with a nice stand up shower. Bed is comfy. Only issue with the room was the air got a little stale, I couldn't get the fan o stay on constantly throughout the night like I enjoy. Proximity-close to all. Walked to Mag Mile, Navy Pier, excellent bars/restaurants in area. Safe, clean and enjoyable. Taxis at teh door constantly to wisk you away or 2 blockt to the red and brown line (I like to figure out each cities public transportation...its fun for me).

"Very nice, clean hotel"
This hotel experience was great! The hotel is extremely clean! The pool was small, but nice. The free breakfast was awesome and helped save $ every day. It is within approximately a mile walk to a lot to see and do in Chicago. The only downside was that onsite parking is $66/day and offsite in a nearby garage was $42/day! I wish we would have known that in advance. In most cases it's easier to walk than drive to a destination. Otherwise, I'd recommend it!

Hard Rock Hotel Chicago

230 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago - Map
"Old building converted to hotel poorly. "
The Hard Rock Hotel is in the old Carbide & Carbon Building in downtown Chicago. The architecture is beautiful, but the conversion into a hotel was poorly done. Our room was sufficient, but was "beat up" a little with damage to the walls and other fixtures. One of the windows would not close fully allowing the August humidity to enter the room leaving things a touch damp. We were never uncomfortable, but expected more from the amount of money spent. Our views were beautiful and the convenience to area attractions was superb. Room furnishings were thrown together and lacked any thought out plan. We would probably give the hotel another chance, but not on the same floor or room.

"Gorgeous Hotel!"
The Langham is an absolutely beautiful hotel complete with a very friendly and attentive staff. From the lobby to the elevator to the halls and rooms and so forth, everything is exquisite. They have movie theaters and an incredible spa. The workout facility is very nice and clean and my children enjoyed the pool. (Someone brought an adorable child's size bear bathrobe down to the pool for my son which was a lovely touch and we ended up purchasing one!) Our stay was wonderful. The location is great. I highly recommend!

    Chicago Hotel & Travel Guide

As the United States' third-largest city, Chi-Town is confident in its place in the American landscape. And for good reason. The city is known for its pizza, sports, and larger-than-life personalities. The winters aren't for the weak, but there's enough going on from the Miracle Mile to Wrigleyville that you'll barely feel the cold. The city's public transit makes it easy to get around town, so even if you're staying at one of the business hotels near O'Hare Airport, the CTA will get you into the middle of the action in no time. You can see the city skyline-- particularly the John Hancock Center--from many places, but none is better than from the window of one of the downtown hotels in Chicago.

    Out & About in Chicago

Regardless of the season, there's always something happening in Chi-Town. From a home base in one of the many Chicago hotels, head to Wrigleyville in the summer and fall for a baseball game. The Shedd Aquarium is great any time of year, and you can't beat listening to music in Millennium Park by "The Bean" on a summer afternoon. The city has a history and culture that it's proud of and staying at one of the boutique hotels in Chicago will give you a chance to explore a little of that history.

    Eating and Drinking

Chicago has a restaurant for whatever food you desire. The deep-dish pizza was invented here in the '30s at Pizzeria Uno, and the Chi-Town staple continues to serve the Italian dish. Deals have been made over just as many plates of mouth-watering slabs of barbecued ribs as around the elegant tables of Morton's steakhouse. Choose among the cheap hotels in Chicago--you'll want every dime of your budget to go toward the heavenly Chicago-style hot dog complete with onions, hot peppers, tomatoes, and a pickle. Don't be surprised if you start craving them for every meal.

Grab your bib and prepare yourself for the most sumptuous and filling meals of your life. Travelocity will help secure you a Second City deal good enough to eat.
