Clean, adequate hotel close to downtown attraction

Pros: Included above
Cons: There is a restaurant adjoining the hotel lobby. It is under separate management from the hotel. The service at breakfast time is unacceptably slow.
Location: Included above
The hotel room was adequate, but not spacious. The price was excellent, compared to other hotels nearby. The room was clean and maid service was swift and good. The Internet was very good, fast and easy to connect, confirming my previous observation that the less you pay for a hotel room, the better the Internet service. The hotel is within walking distance to the art museum, and in good weather within walking distance to the aquarium and Field Museum. In inclement weather, there is easy bus service to both. All and all, an economical choice that I would make again.

Very worn and not very clean. Good location.

Pros: Very good location. Near Michigan Ave and an L stop.
Cons: Old and not very clean.
Location: The location is a little south on MI Ave, but just one block away. A bit of a walk to the Chicago River, but good location for the cost.
The staff was friendly. The rooms were very old and small. The carpet and bedcover felt dirty. The pillows were not comfortable (small / square pillows).

Good deal

Everything went like clockwork - uneventful and reliable. Location and price were biggest considerations and this choice delivered on both accounts

The location is great but the room had a smoke smell. It got better with the AC on. The bed was tiny and sagged.

Perfect location!

Pros: Location and price!
Cons: More room in the bathroom for toiletries.
Location: We were across from Grant Park and within walking distance to everything.
We came to Chicago for the Rock n Roll Marathon weekend events. We selected this hotel for many reasons, price, location to trains, and location to start and finish lines for the RnR 5k and Half Marathon. We arrived early to drop our bags off while we explored the city and Jessica let us know that they had a room available and checked us in early. This was really helpful since we had taken the red eye flight in and a nap was greatly appreciated. Another bonus we were able to get a late check out so I could shower after the half marathon. Any interaction with the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is close to everything and the view from the room was pretty.

Good for the price

Pros: Location and size of room.
Cons: More towels in the room and bigger, firmer pillows.
Location: This hotel is in a great location, just blocks from museum campus and the lakefront. Lots of local businesses nearby.
Staff was accommodating and helpful whenever asked for information. My daughter and I go to Chicago every year for a weekend trip and this was our first time at this hotel. The room was large. The beds were a little uncomfortable but looked new with very small with unsupportive pillows. The hotel has three elevators in the lobby and two were working the first two days of our stay. They were quick when the hotel was not busy but on check out morning we waited over half an hour to get down to the lobby as only one was working. The building is old but interesting and has been renovated. Even though there were some hiccups, we would stay again. Don't expect luxury here, you get what you pay for and we wanted a reasonable rate for a weekend getaway and that is exactly what we got.

Great for the price

For $85-$90 a night I thought it was good. Hotel staff was great, allowed for an early check in and held our luggage so we could wander the city until our room was ready. We had a late flight leaving and hotel held our luggage after checking out as well. Major convenience for us. Only real knock was that there are no mini fridges in rooms and there are no thermostats in the rooms either. Heat was blasting but the did have AC units. We had to have AC on to offset and it ended up being fine.
