Dear cf, We are glad you chose to stay with us! Our downtown location is unbeatable, and we're glad to hear that it was close to your event venue. Atwood is a great dining option for brunch, lunch, or dinner. We hope you'll be back to Chicago and The Alise soon. Warm Regards

Enjoyed the wine @ 5

Enjoyed meeting other guests over wine in the afternoon including a couple celebrating a 15th anniversary and a young man visiting from Paris. He enjoyed the architecture and design.

Excellent location. Nice, small room.

Pros: Location. Decor and atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing to improve.
Location: This hotel is right on State Street near shopping and also near Millennium Park. A short walk to the Magnificent Mile.
We stayed here for a trip downtown for my wife's birthday. The location is excellent and the interior of the building has an old-time feel and is quite nice. It feels like you walk into the 1930s once you get onto the room floors. The room itself was clean and nice, though small. This worked well for us as we spent little time in the room itself, but if you plan to spend more time in the actual room, I would consider another hotel. I enjoy staying in new hotels to experience different atmospheres and if you also like to try new places, then this is one that I would definitely recommend to try, though next time, I will try another hotel.

Two blocks from Millennium Park

Pros: See above.
Cons: N/A
Location: Nearby: Millennium Park, Grant Park, shopping, restaurants, Starbucks, the El and buses to take you everywhere else.
So much to like about this hotel. You can see Millennium Park from the front door. The structural features, gorgeous marble interiors, beautiful understated art and photos--these totally made up for the smallish room (quite cozy and European). The staff was outstanding. Best of all, the restaurant in the lobby was fabulous--delicious innovative dishes. We ate dinner and brunch and both were memorable. And Macy's across the street in the old Marshall Field building still sells Frango chocolates. We came for the Jazz Fest and will be back.

Pros: It was quiet and centrally located to everything we wanted to visit. Close to public transportation.
Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We were looking forward to staying here ever since we visited it on an architectural tour. Very comfortable and clean.

Multidimensional class

The fully restored Reliance Building has gorgeous rooms and fittings, though a little tight. Bay window rooms off Washington offer a view of Pritzker Pavilion. Enjoyed the false door to our room harking from its days an office building. Atwood Cafe was also a feast for the eyes of Chicago School - healthy and tasty food, with a nice Irish Coffee and Blood Orange mimosas. The Front Desk staff were excellent, and we received a handwritten note from the maid. All around classy!

This is a wonderful hotel

I can not say enough good things about my recent stay at the Burnham Hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. Each staff member we encountered was helpful and very friendly. The hotel kept a lot of the character of the old building but also had a lot of beautiful updates. Rooms are a little small but they are neat, clean and well supplied with everything you would need. We even received several hand written notes from various staff members offering their assistance. If you want to stay in the Loop, this is a fantastic hotel. It is near the subway but you do not have the noise from the “L” on the upper floors. Great Stay!!

WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN

I loved this place. The charm of this boutique hotel and friendly staff made up for the small room. Very cool old buidling. The kind of place where you actually "miss" your room when you aren't there! Great place in downtown Chicago - walking distance to pretty much everything. Great restaurant a bit pricey but atmosphere and food were exceptional. Probably not the best place for young kids. Bring your dog though because pets are welcome!

I would live here if I could

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, amazing service, perfect location, historic building, great view
I have stayed at the Hotel Burnham twice, and both times were the most wonderful hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff are unbelievably nice and friendly -- the last time we were there, I mentioned it was my mother's birthday, and they had a little gift for her when we arrived -- they had even asked me what my mother likes, so the gift could be more personal. During our entire stay, we were treated like royalty. One night, we were coming back and I was hungry, but everything in the neighborhood was closed, including the hotel kitchen. My mother mentioned I had hoped to get a glass of milk or something -- they brought a glass of milk to our room and didn't charge us a penny. The building itself is beautiful -- stay on one of the floors that has retained the old office-building fixtures in the renovation. The rooms are smallish, maybe, for some, but I actually love having my bed right by the window, so I can wake up to that amazing view. The restaurant is a little pricey, but not more so than any hotel restaurant in a large city, and the food is exquisite -- don't miss the desserts! The location could not be better, being right on State Street, and only a block or so from more than one bus line or subway station. My mother and I just about ACHED to have to leave the Burnham both times, and wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Chicago. The comfort and service are what I imagine people usually expect from a MUCH more expensive hotel.
