walk a little for comfort!

Posted Jan 26, 2016 on Hotels
Not worth the amount paid to be comfortable and close to shopping. The room was not what we booked and had to take or be left with no place to stay. The elevators were so small you could only fit 4 people (assuming not overweight average size) at a time in them. The toilet was so close the the wall you almost had to sit sideways to even move to go to the bathroom. The tv was in a far corner away from the beds or view even from a bed. Our view was a dark, dirty, loud alley, and back of other buildings. Our room was so hot that we didn't even use covers temp was reading 90s and when we tried the air to cool it down still blew out heat. No breakfast unless you want to spend an arm and leg for nothing. Parking was unclear and we drove around for 20min before having to ask them where to go again. Location Is great, and that's the only thing this hotel has going.

Great location. . Beautiful room.. top notch staff.. while checking in I was informed that staying in the higher floors you can hear the bar which is on the 18th floor .. so we stayed on the 10th and it was great.. we did go the bar and it was very very very loud .. so thanks for the heads up when I checked in... I will definitely be back...

Great location but has issues

Posted Jan 24, 2016 on Hotels
we've stayed here before. the location is great and if you do not use the valet parking you can save 25$ by self parking one block south. we stayed in the larger king room and it was roomy and clean. however the faux leather headboard is peeling so bad that pieces of it Are hanging and falling off on your head. the heat in the room was unbelievable. we turned it off and it Still ran all night .it was so hot and dry in the room. the room service was closed at night and the restaurant was closed in the morning.

Hello! Thank you for the five star review! I'm glad to see that you found your guests room comfortable. I appreciate your feedback in regards to the other amenities of your room. We are in the process of updating our headboards in the rooms. I'm sorry to hear room service was not available to you in the evening during your stay. The restaurant does not open for breakfast, but we do have glazed and infused in our lobby for a quick grab-and-go, as well as surrounding restaurants that offer lovely breakfast options. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again, and we'll be sure to offer recommendations for you during your next stay!

Lakeside luxury and comfort

Posted Jan 19, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: Donut shop in the lobby (Glazed and Infused) - DELICIOUS. VIP drink tickets at the rooftop bar, comfortable bed, free wifi was reliable, location
Cons: The front desk has a service that sends a welcome text message - I wasn't aware and thought there was a problem with the room. Mention at check in?
Location: Michigan Avenue - shopping, movies, restaurants, shows. Lake Michigan, museums nearby. Walk, take a taxi or public transit.
Next to the Hancock building (Willis Tower) and Lake Michigan one block from Michigan Avenue, this is an upscale boutique hotel in an old building. It's similar to a 4-star hotel in a major metropolitan European city - tiny elevators, renovated older building, tiny rooms with modern bathrooms and supreme bed linens. Some of the basic furnishings need repair (chipped paint and paneling, carpet stains, worn out headboard) but the major amenities have been upgraded. Multiple outlets and USB charging ports next to the bed and at the desk, several internet connectivity options, fully stocked minibar with microwave, spa-style shower with detachable hand spray. The staff is professional and courteous, the lobby is elegant and pleasant and the on-site rooftop bar and main level restaurant don't get in the way if you're just a hotel guest. Self parking is down the block at a secure underground garage.

Nice hotel by the Magnificent Mile

Posted Jan 13, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: Great location, size of standard room, kitchenette in the room, service and friendliness of staffs.
Location: John Hancock building was a block away, close by Magnificent Mile for shopping, close by the Chicago loop and everything else.
Love the hotel's location. Everything is near by and walkable. This hotel is only a block or so away from the John Hancock building (location of the Chicago Tilt) and really close by the waters and other must see sights. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful too. If you stay there you have to try the Glazed and Infused donut shop on the first floor.
